It will be fine, Krieger uses a 1:16 on their 404 Jeffery.

I think some CZ550s in 416 Rigby used a 1:16 as well.

Barnes and Cutting Edge require specific twist rates. You might want to check their websites. My 404J barrel is 1:14 which as I recall fit comfortably within their specified limits.

UPDATE: SNAP CAPS & HOMEMADE ADJUSTMENT TOOL FOR MAGAZINE LIPS


SNAP CAPS
Within the first couple tries, I realized how dangerous it could be when using live ammo for testing how good the functions are for the bolt sliding forward, grabbing the rim of the cartridge, and the magazine lips guiding the cartridge toward what will eventually be the chamber.

Although being extremely careful to make sure my fingers and any loose clothing is nowhere near the trigger, I'm not completely familiarized with the gun, its trigger settings, and so forth. Therefore its A LOT better to be safe by using snap caps (dummy rounds) than to risk serious injury and damage to the gun from if the firing pin would somehow release and set off a round.

I found these particular 416 Rem Mag snap caps on Ebay with rubber inserts in place of the primers.
The seller offers a large variety of calibers and configurations:

1) Can be ordered in either their original brass case or in black cases.
2) Can choose the cases to have or not have a hole drilled through their side wall.
3) Can choose to have the cases filled whereby they will rattle when shook

HOMEMADE ADJUSTMENT TOOL FOR MAGAZINE LIPS:

I just used standard mild steel since it's certainly adequate for the job.
However, a couple websites sell a similar version that's made with aluminum.
Unlike the online versions, I designed mine with utilizing both ends of the tool whereby having a full length on one end and then a narrow length at its opposite end. I did this because I could do it and not because I already know that it will be useful.

Notice the approximate 20 degree channel cut into each end. This makes the tool more practical to use whereby providing a better holding angle for the user and also for in situations that may require avoiding the tool from coming in contact with the magazine's opposite lip.

I'm not making any adjustment at this time.
Although I have already done a few test runs of the bolt sliding out the cartridge from the magazine and getting some pretty decent results, I first need to wait approximate 2 months for the 416 Rem Mag barrel is delivered and then I will be able to do more thorough tests and see how to adjust the magazine's lips for better feeding.

Depending upon what the finished gun weighs, you may want to add weight to the butt stock.

My gun weighs 10 pounds loaded with the scope. I would not want it lighter.

I do not have a muzzle brake, and that may make it shootable without extra weight.
