Here is a photo of a recovered 450 gr Woodleigh bullet. The bullet completely penertrated a 24" box of alluvial River sand and came to rest up against a dead tree that was behind the box. Weight retention was 70 % and expansion .890"
SD of this bullet is .361 This test is a harder material then flesh and bone so I'm sure penertration will be considerably more. Plan to ues this bullet and others on Asian Buffalo which are quite larger then Cape Buffalo next month, will post the results then. How do you think this projectile will perform .

I think they will do quite well, I imported several boxes of the 450gr from OZ for the .404J I'm having built.

When I hunted the NT in 2023 I had to borrow a rifle and it was a .404J and the ammo on hand was the 350gr Weldcore which performed flawlessly; if you're going after big buff, scrubbers or Banteng I think the 450gr will be just the ticket.

What load are you using with the 450gr, and what velocity are you running them at?

Worked flawless for me, would have no issues using again.

This was about 50 yards, double lung/heart on a Buff.

2150 is what my solver app says, guessing that was a round number, but drop was dead on out to 200 yards.

The 450 weldcore have a muzzle velocity at 2230 fps while the 350 Woodleigh and the 360 gr monolithic Atomic are doing 2620

Load with the lighter bullets eg 350 and 360 is 85 gr of 2208 / target. 84 grs of 2209 with the 450 woodleigh
