Getting a couple of rifles ready to go for my July trip. Finally settled on a load for my 375 h&h improved. Running 300gr a frames at 2800. Target is 5 shots at 100 yds using the bullet hole as my aim point. Swapped out the scope for a Nightforce NX8 1-8 and now it’s ready to roll. Now to get the plains game rifle ready.

Looks like your PG rifle is also ready to go. Many years ago, I brought two rifles on my first safari (Namibia). I fired both to check zero and the "PG" rifle never left the case again. The .375 turned out to be perfect for everything. I also have learned to hate schlepping heavy gun cases. A single all purpose rifle is the perfect solution.

That is rather startling FPS achievement with a 300 gr bullet.

I’m considering it. Barnes 250 ttsx have the same zero point of impact and run 2950. I may just put the 3-12 s&b back on it and run it.

I use 300 for everything, and have never had to pass on a shot because of a range limitation.

Why do u want it up at 2800 2900 in a 375
Way too fast for my liking

Just where it ended up during load workup. I may drop back and look for a lower node around 2700. I’m on my 7th firing now with my test brass using that 2800fps load and my pressure gauge shows I’m still about 10% below max pressure.

I assume that is a rifle from your company. “Rbros” ?

I like the look of it. Can we see some closeups. And hear some details. Trigger, barrel, safety stock

Yes, it’s one of my builds. I’m not a sponsor yet so I’m not to promote. It’s one of my crf actions w/3 pos safety, triggertech, krieger barrel and a modified manners uc-plus stock.

That is a very nice four shot group....if I were you, I wouldn't touch a thing, leave the scope as is, leave the load as is... leave everything as is... this recommendation is of course assuming that the feeding and extraction are smooth and without a catch or hiccup.
P.S - I echo the one rifle sentiment... this one will do it all.

That looks ready to go, to me. That's a screaming fast load. Haven't played with RL16 yet, was this data published or free based using your pressure gauge?

Great setup for success. All the best.

Rbros, cudos that is one hell of a group. I too thought your velocity was / is much faster than normally achieved. So just for the heck of it I ran a QuickLoad simulation for a 26" barreled 375 H&H AI using 300 Gr. SAF(s) and Reloader 16. To get 2800 FPS it was only a shade over 12,000 lbs above the SAMI Max Pressure. I understand that QuickLoad isn't perfect, it has also been proven to be very close in most cases.

We 'll visit Livingstone / Vic Falls for 3 days and 2 nights. Back to Mapcha by car, back to WDH with Airlink (grab my rifles and belongings) and the same day back to Frankfurt.
What do you mind from your own experience ? and your wife .? Did she appreciate ?
We already hunted Namibia in 2022, May for PG near Outjo for 8 days. Great country.
Thank you for your advises.
Philippe

Hello Cecil
I am Philippe from Center of France. I plan to hunt Zambezi with Zana Botes in 2026, Oct after a couple of days for PG in Namibia in his lodge. I will be with my wife. She is not really a huntress and we promised to go visit Vic Falls. I imagine to go to Caprivi by car , hunt there 7 days (for buff) and go by car to Vic falls (PH will bring back my rifle) . sorry I am required to write 2 messages
