Why is that? Simply velocity? It seems most folks are using the 300gr.
While on a hunt last year, my guide told me they had more problems with over penetration with 270 grain TSX than 300 grain TSX. Like you, I'd be curious to understand how this is possible.

TSX for me, shot my buffalo with 416 Rem, 400 gr TSX, recovered it, still weighs 399 gr, one shot kill, I'm in love LOL

Knowing there are more modern and impressive bullets i have had great results with the 300 gr nosler partition

I chose Swift because I’ve used them for years. But I’d pick CEB solids if they were listed

I'll have to say the Barnes 300 TSX, and I've shot a total of 14 animals with this factory load, from Warthog and Bushbuck on the smaller side to bull Cape Buffalo.

Here is the only bullet I've recovered, and it was from the Buffalo shot through the shoulder.

I have done a 1 gun safari with my vote and have written of it here many times. 300 TSX covered a wide range of game....croc, buffalo, sable, honey badger...one shot each and all exits except the croc that was shot in the neck. I would recommend that load to anyone for a 1 gun safari. You can find TSX on the shelves or online sources every day. I have A-frames on my reloading shelf and still take the TSX.

Thank you to the community with real Safari experience for responding to this short survey.
I am very grateful to you!

So, finally, A-frame No. 1, TSX No. 2, TBBC No. 3.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
