After being around the block with 404 Jeffery and firing some other big calibers to try them, I think I have the combo.

Might not be Heym’s but these Winchester .375 rifles are good for what I’ll do with them. One Alaskan with scope and one Express with RMR.

First use will be hogs and deer this season. More buffalo in the future (God willing)!

Have not zeroed the express yet but the Alaskan shoots 350 grain north fork bullets at 2325 and accurately. As well as TBBC from Federal.

Love the rifles and the Jim Greens

Good looking set of Winchesters! Which do you prefer the Alaskan or Safari Express?
Thank you, Both are great but the express is definitely a chunky feel. More barrel heavy. It’s the second safari express I’ve owned.

The Alaskan with scope was 9.3lbs on the scale and the express will be around the same weight with RMR.

The Alaskan has a definite pop on the bench but once zeroed, it was no issue at all off of the sticks.

For scoped rifle to carry a long way, probably the Alaskan. For Buffalo inside 80 yards I’d like to try the express with the red dot. Both need triggers because they are breaking around 5lbs.

Good to know. I have a Ruger M77 RSM in 375 H&H. It is a beautiful rifle but a little heavy for a 375. It comes in around 10lbs without a scope. Makes it a joy to shoot though. I have always liked the look of the Model 70 Safari Express as well. It is a classic looking rifle. The Alaska looks good also!

The Ruger is a sweet rifle! The weight does help a lot with recoil huh. My dad has added a lot of weight to his caprivi and it comes in around 12lbs ish I think now.

I love shooting it! Just don’t love carrying it haha. I’m willing to take a little more pop from a 375 to have a nice handling rifle that’s easy to carry all day.

That rifle you have is about the perfect weight!

I assume that’s the Talley mount for your RMR? Just ordered one for my Safari Express and am eager to try it.
Yes Sir. You are going to love it I bet. It points like a shotgun and allows you to get a good cheek weld and see straight through it.

I am going to set a target at 7 yards and try having the RMR turned off and using the RMR as a rear sight with the front sight bead right in the bottom of the RMR and see what the offset is.

Could be good to know the offset incase the dot ever died or wasn’t there for any reason.

My Dad and I actually have a complete set of the Ruger m77 RSMs. They are all special editions from Cabela's that had gold embellishing of a lion on the 375, cape buffalo on the 416, and an elephant on the 458 Lott. I hope to take them to Africa one day, but for now they are just beautiful rifles to look at and have fun shooting some. Big bore rifles are addictive!

Oh man, beautiful rifles for sure! I’d love to see those if you get a chance to take pics sometime.

great looking guns those

happy to help you with a buff inside 80 yds
did one 2 weeks ago with a client, CZ 375HH, open sights, around 70 yds
was a great hunt

Ooops. I'm sure the Courtneys are levels above the Greens. Enjoy.
My younger brother would say the Jim Greens are better but I have some flinstone feet haha.

If I ever get tracked, they’ll think they’re hunting the missing link.

Beautiful combo. (y)

Love them both but prefer the straight stock design on the African. The timber they used is also quite nice on both. If you were to spend some time applying oil to them, it would really bring out the figure in either of those stocks.

Very practical and excellent rifle choices, probably the absolute best value for the money ever.
