375 H&H - DGX/DGS or TSX?

Sorry there are not A frames available in France. Can you get Loaded TSX and bonded DGX and go shoot them both for accuracy and practice?

I have to add a vote for TSX. My PH advised TSX for any plains game and buffalo with the only exception of leopard over three trips. If loading your own, the 350 gr in a .375 H&H works great on buffalo.

I've written off A-frames...I've got a few boxes but you can't find them consistently and that's been true for years. I don't need them now that I've had LOTS of success with TSX or TTSX. I've written it so many times here but the 300 TSX is perfect for a one gun safari for anything (except elephant) and you can order them any day of the week (factory loads or for reloading).

I use 270 gr TSX out of my 375. Buffalo, Sable, Water Buck, Kudu, Gemsbok, White Blesbok, Zebra.

Totally devastating on all targets. And you gain 200 fps on velocity which gives you same energy as 300 gr, but as much lower recoil.

I've taken buffalo with DGX, Swift Aframes and Barnes TSX, I would have no hesitation, based on my own personal experience, of using any of the 3 you have suggested. Also, and this is just my opinion, but with the quality bonded bullets that are out there today, I won't be putting solids in my rifle to hunt buffalo.

DGX has worked perfectly for me for buffalo, albeit with another chambering.

1 shot kill - .416 Rigby

My rifle shot DGX and DGS to the same POI, so I carried some of both, just in case.

My rifle, a CZ 550, was a less accurate with factory TSX, so I didn't use them. Barnes ammo was much harder to find, so I took that into consideration also.

I just looked, and they still don't have it!
4 years and counting...

Not sure where you are looking for 416 Rigby ammo but Midway has hornady DGX, Barnes TSX, Federal swift A frame, and federal trophy bonded bear claws in stock.

I was looking at Barne's website...

My PH really liked Hornady DG ammo.

Barnes combo every time

Of the options you listed, I would choose the Barnes TSX. But, if you want A-Frames another source is Hendershots. I had them make up two custom loads for me using the 300g A-Frame and the North Fork Cup Point Solid to hunt Buff. They both shot great, and to the same POI. But, I tried the North Forks CPS in two different 375 rifles and they just would not feed reliably enough to suit me. The odd shaped noses would hang up sometimes. That was a deal killer.

So, I am using the TSX for the buffalo with a pair of Woodleigh Hydros in the bottom of the magazine. Those both feed perfectly. I am still taking a few of the A-Frames to try on the larger PG. Everyone's experience is different but I have not encountered many TSX failure stories and same with A-Frames. They just get it done.

My PH recently got to try some of the TSX ammo on two buffalo bulls and claims that they were the most effective 375 bullets on Buff, he has ever used. They are very expensive to get in RSA so, I gave him my extra box instead of shipping them home. I think they are sort of a cross between the expansion of a soft point and the deep penetration of a solid. TSX fits in the middle.

Norma, Hornady, Barnes, Nosler, not necessarily in that order. Woodleigh if they shoot accurately out of your rifle.

Even though I reload if I can get a good price on factory ammo I'll purchase 3 or 4 boxes, or a case if the price is right or if it's hard to get ammo.

I have used both and hunted with both. The TSX is my choice - penetration, it will ofter pass through leaving a big exit hole and they hold together.
The DGS are fine but I prefer the TSX.

I have use AFrames and TBBC's as well. With the Aframes and TBBC's not as readily available, I use the TSX's in most of my Africa guns.

I haven't seen any recent stories/documentation on TSX failures. The PHs I work with are recommending them for DG or any game minus elephant. A-frames have lost some reputation due to being unavailable. TSX has really stepped up and most serious users have switched over to TSX, CEB or NorthFork.

In 375H&H, what would be your choice of 300gr bullet manufactured cartridges for heavy game, in particular Buffalo, but also Eland or Sable: Duo DGX/DGS or TSX?
Note that A-Frame is out of scope, impossible to find any Federal apart Power-Shok...
This is an easy one. TSX all the way. With TSX there is no need for solids for buffalo

I wouldn't be afraid to use the Hornady, they shoot extremely well out of my Kimber. I choose the TSSX as they shoot equally as accurately and the performed with perfection on a Cape Buff, Kudu and Sable for me.

My son and I used Barnes TSX 300 grain 375 H&H for buffalo last year in South Africa, they performed well in our Blaser R8 rifles, accuracy was exceptional. 3 one shot kills. And they are available.

Another Barnes man here :)

I am using 235gr, 270gr and 300gr Barnes TSX for my Winchester 70 in .375H&H

Depending on the game I am hunting only the bulletweight changes. But the gun is always fueled with a reloaded Barnes TSX
