Nice post.
300 WM is a brilliant caliber.

Phil, I use H4831sc in my 300WM. 72.0 gr with a 180 Nosler Partition chronographs 2,867fps. Not fast, but accurate and a Partition doesn't seem to do well when pushed as fast as monolithics need to go.

I find that Barnes bullets are more accurate in all my guns when a long way off he lands, as in up to .070" (most so far).

Good luck!

If you don't mind using a pricier bullet, try 200gr North Forks with H4831SC. I get 2850fps I think it is, at least 2800fps. Or try it with the 180gr version and I'll bet you'll be pushing close to 3000fps. That would be a pretty devasting load on most PG I'd think.

Here's the target for the NorthForks - 25yds off a bag, iron sights. Hunting leopards over dogs the range won't be more than that.

Flew in an airshow in Smyrna years ago, beautiful country.

Best regards,

Franco
