Does anyone know of a RNSP in .284/7mm. It looks like Hornady has discontinued them in interlock and who knows what’s going on with corelokt at Remington.

Since long range hunting has taken over the world it looks like the old styles have faded away.

They faded away some time ago. The only ones I have been able to find is new old stock at out of the way gun shops. Woodliegh used to make some before their fire. Not sure if they have resumed production or not.

I'm kind of surprised Hawk bullets isn't mentioned more here. @velodog cued me into them once and they've been on my radar ever since.

And after that I'd suggest Peregrine Bushmasters, a monometal take on the flat nose expandable. Unfortunately most of that line of their bullets is currently out of stock. I used their .375/300 grain with great success.

I'm another who likes RN bullets. I've a few Hornaday 7mm 175gr bullets left & I'm hoarding them. In my rifle the 175gr Horn. spire point shoot into the same group as the RN @ 100yds. So I'm using them for practice & fun shooting. Took a Whitetail doe this year with the Horn. 175gr RN @ 135yds. It took out the top of her heart @ broke the off shoulder on exit. The deer went 30yds & fell.
I'll haunt gunshops & shows looking for some.

I tried to get some Hawk bullets about a year ago. It was a very odd interaction. They replied immediately with an “out of stock” email which was fine, I didn’t figure they would be in stock. I asked about back order, no further replies. Perhaps a failure to communicate, I took it as “not interested”.

It’s a fantastic bullet out to say 200 yards. I’m not familiar with hawk but will certainly check them out.

Lapua also made a mono metal round nose for a while….naturalis. I think it’s been since discontinued though.

I thought I had found a box of 200 that had been pulled from loaded ammo at a fantastic deal with only very light pull marks but when I went to order them, they were sold.

The Peregrine Bushmasters is an interesting looking bullet. I’ve not seen it either. I normally stay away from mono metal. i Would assume the heavy for caliber bullets are long?

More of a spire point, but I really like the 175 gr A-Frames.

Yes they would be since copper isn't as dense as lead. Though 150 is as high as peregrine goes for the 7mm Bushmaster.

Just as an fyi they have a 168 listed. I’m not sure if it’s a new offering.

Color me red. I should have thought of hawk as I ordered some 250 grain 354 bullets for my MS 9x56 from them about a year and a half ago. I loaded some 7mm 175 GE RN for my son to use in his 7mm 08 after the 140 GE blew up a shoulder on his 1st deer with it. Next deer was an 8 point that broke both shoulders but the difference was you could eat right up to the hole.

I have quite a few of the Hornadys in 154 and 175 gr, RN bullets often shoot very well.

What’s that saying “ all that was old is new again”? I have lately found myself reloading all my calibers with round nose heavy for caliber bullets. They worked then and they still work now. Just getting harder to find them now.

Ain’t it the truth. In my younger days I had to have a sleek, tipped, boat tail and a synthetic stocked stainless rifle. Now I love wood and blue with a bone crushing round nose projectile which I cannot find. Lol.

I bet you won't find any RN bullets for your Crudmoor? LOL

I didn't know I was so fortunate! I have been bidding on local gun auction sites and have amassed a stash of several hundred 175 & 160 gr. 7mm traditional RN bullets. Hornady, Norma, CIL, and perhaps a couple other makes. At 7x57 velocities, they work as reliably as they have for the last century or so. I have three 7x57 rifles, and all of them shoot very well with the original long round nose bullets. When I use shorter spitzer bullets it is more difficult to develop an accurate load. And I like how the old heavy round nose bullets look! :-)

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

Made it to Augusta Georgia yesterday for a meeting, hunt bookings are looking good for 2026 and 2027, had a great time on our Alabama safari shot a rutting deer at 200 yards with 7mm PRC near Huntsville and then headed on to Butler Alabama and semi guided my first deer ever shot a very nice broken off 8 point with hunter there and spend a few days on 1100 acres hunting preserve awesome place!
