Got the e mail this morning that I drew a Wyoming deer tag. I applied for the archery option as well figuring to spend as much time as possible and enjoy the season. Killing a deer is not the overall goal, I just want to be there and hunting and see what there is to see.
In Utah my oldest/married daughter drew a good mountain goat tag. Her husband said it was luck, he doesn’t realize I’ve been getting her points for well over a decade!
My other daughter drew a private property rifle deer tag (cwmu) which is a great opportunity. It is in southern utah where the population wasn’t hit so hard by the winter.
And I have a rifle deer tag for the end of October, which I am looking forward to in addtion to a general season archery elk tag for a cow or spike.
The girls are very busy with college and high school and sports but I believe it will be an exciting hunting season!
