After testing many of the new bows on the market this year, and making a few different Bow Battle Vids comparing them (you can see those on my YouTube Channel: Lusk Archery Adventures), there was one clear winner for me. I'm eager to take this new rig on my next trip to Africa.

love your videos, and I'm a subscriber....

I think to many of us are hung up on a certain brand of bow. I know I am! I’m a Mathews guy and won’t even try any other bow, definitely a mental game. I’ve got to many Mathews hats to shoot a new bow and have to trade hats. Lol. One of my buddies is a bowtech fanatic and it is a sweet shooting bow. Good luck this year!
Cheers,
Cody

Great rig and smart testing. Performance wise the current technology has peaked so it's all about personal preferences.

I’ll look for your videos as I like the comparisons, just hard to find one that isn’t biased.

I’ve owned 6 compound bows in my life over 35 years, so I don’t switch that often. Many different brands. Bear, Darton, Jennings, Diamond, used Mathews and now a new Mathews. I’m not brand loyal at all, but everyone of my friends has their favorite and only buys that brand. Doesn’t make sense to me, but to each his own. To be honest I usually look for a deal on a top brand. I bought my Halon 32” in Aug 17 as I couldn’t pass up the deal. $890 with a free Mathews quiver with a $125 sticker on it. It took me a year to put down my 2007 Diamond black ice as I love it. Halon is a LB heavier. I shot many 2017 bows at shows and most were very good. I probably favored the bowtech and elite models but took the good deal on Mathews. I now like the added weight for stability. I’m Not really looking to buy anytime soon but I enjoy shooting the new models.

I agree technology has kind of peaked and they all shoot better than we can.

Now to go to YouTube and find your videos! Thx again

I get it. I was a loyal Hoyt guy for a couple decades. My dad even knew Earl Hoyt way back in the day. They are fantastic bows. But this was the first time I thought I'd test them all and see which one was the smoothest and fastest for me, at a shorter draw length of 27". The answer was crystal clear and it really surprised me.

Nice Cat in your Avatar!

Nice video on mountain lion and way to smack a mtn goat. I have been shooting xpedition bows for about 5 years now. I have bought and hunted with about every bow company made except for a few. The bow just has to feel right in your hand.

Thank you! And very well said. As I’ve opened my mind I’ve realized there are a lot of excellent bows out there :)

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
