10mm auto new pistol which one?

This is an old thread brought back to life,,, but here the Glock 10mm is gaining a lot of popularity with our fishing guides. I am a fan of Glock but Luke warm on the 10. Not against it, but not crazy about it either.

With regard to the Sig P320 there is a great occurrence of experts with a severe shortage of expertise here. I just googled Sig P320 trigger recall and came up with:
Cases of unintentional discharge
SIG voluntary trigger upgrade...
Video of P320 not drop safe
I'm sure I could go on, but I believe I've proven the point.
Are law enforcement personnel the best at weapons manipulation and maintenance? NO. Absolutely not. Not by a long shot, but to seriously consider that a bunch of cops are gun fumbling this particular pistol and shooting themselves negligently is foolish. A military organization not releasing evidence of critical failures of equipment is nothing new. Morale and other fun terms are at stake. Ever see stats on how many M9s went boom and ping pong on ships? No, but that's all they ever talked about during small arms training and thou shalt always use the clearing barrel.

My theory is that there's a problem with sear engagement on the P320 and the firing mechanism is very vulnerable to inertia. Makes sense to why they reduced trigger mass and added a mechanical disconnector. I'm not putting one in my holster or sleeping bag. Any gun you do decide to put in close protective service should have its trigger fully covered and covering the magazine release is a good idea too. Glock is a nice design for such things because it's not storing energy in a cocked striker system. I'd still prefer to cover the trigger just because I'd like to avoid making myself bleed as much as possible.

.45 super... sorry I had to say it.

I've had Glocks and I like Glocks but unless you get a Glock 40, you have to drill it to accept red dots

Checkout Meprolight Micro RDS. I’ve got one on my G20 and one on my P229. It works well. No co-witness though.

Anyone know of a 1911 (single stack) with a rail and is also optic ready?
I’m asking about a 10mm production 1911 not a custom.
thanks

How's the zero return between mountings? Also how did it affect your holsters? Any get bumped out of the lineup?

I have a G-20, I like the G-40, but the extra length may make it hard to draw if charged by a bear, plus it adds weight, which for a backwoods gun is not good..the G-20 I am perfectly happy and comfortable wearing all day out in the woods and never feel I need a break from it....

As far as I can tell it does return to zero. I shoot my handguns at 25m and have not noticed any POI shifts so it works for that application. I use custom made leather/kydex holsters, both had to be altered slightly to accommodate the optic, the sights are standard height. Though the the rear sight is quite long which might affect some holsters too.

As for the actual optics attached I use Mepro sight on G20 and Noblex on P229.
