I just called Good Books in the Woods…they say the books are delayed a few more days but shouldn’t be terribly much longer. Expecting around the 28th of June possibly into early July worse case.
As a heads up, should one be interested, they have Wayne Grants other book, Drums of the Morning...
Wyatt is extremely thorough and is great with communication. I’m awaiting a shipment from Cameroon and he has been amazing keeping up with the details for my eland and other trophies.
Used my synthetic stock 375 h&h Browning Abolt on everything from duikers to a 206 yard shot on this LDE with @JKO HUNTING SAFARIS im Cameroon. I used 260 grain accubonds. Leupold Vx5 on top. I’ve used 300gr Aframes on buffalo also. Love the gun.
Hope he has some luck. They’ve been having a tuff go this year. Their hunter prior went 2x this season, spring and then this past 2 weeks, trying to get his bongo with no success. It’s a hunt a really want to do.

When Sitatunga hunting and shooting from a machan do guys typically set up with a solid rest of sorts like a tripod to cradle the rifle? Considering the distance might be fairly lengthy I’m curious as to how the shot goes down and how guys get solid.
Thank you. I’m looking for a gun to use and take some abuse that I’d surely put it thru in all of Africa. I don’t want to buy a safe queen. Really a well used gun was my thought but seems as though it’s a tuff one to find.
Has anyone hunted Tsessebe in the Bangweulu swamps?
I’ll be there in September for Black Lechwe and am adding Tsessebe as well. I know there are thousands of lechwe but curious about the tsessebe numbers. It is a 1 day hunt in route to another location.
Thanks for sharing. I’ll be sure to do that. Do you feel is more durable than an aluminum case? I can for sure see the advantages of it looking like golf clubs.
Anyone that has hunted Forrest Sitatunga, who did you hunt with and were you successful or not, would you recommend the operator? Any other info you’d like share.
I’m looking at the Kalispel double gun cases and was curious as to what the advantage of the safari style case is vs the traditional double rifle case…yes I’m aware the 2nd. photo shown is a single case…it is being used to illustrate what I mean by traditional style case.
My understanding is they hit you with a second hunt fee…like charge for a separate hunt if you want to be able to do more than 2 A class animals. If I’m incorrect in that please someone inform me.
I’m looking for any experiences with, opinions, any info you may want to share. I’m looking at their Bongo/Forrest Sitatunga hunt as well as Eland/Buffalo/Roan
Thank you
What month(s) would be recommended for a Lord Derby Eland hunt?...Operator suggestions? Anyone to stay away from...any other general knowledge or advice pertaining to this hunt welcome.
Which commonly hunted South African animals would not be contained by high fence? Would you consider them fair chase if taken in a fenced South Africa property.
Would steenbok, duiker, warthog, bushpig, civet?
Just got back from my 1st trip to Africa…2 weeks in Zim. 2 ancient buffalo, big sable, spotted hyena, various plains game…I’m ready to write my deposit for the next adventure.
I’d like an addax and or Pere David. Wife will be pretty open, maybe a Fallow, wrong time for axis I think but that would be preferable if available. Kids im thinking a ram or 4 horn & pigs if available.
I’m looking for a destination for a family hunt/vacation for this Dec if openings allow…3-4 days. Myself, wife, 11 & 8 year olds would all want to take an animal. 3 year old daughter in tow. I’m looking for a place with nice accommodations and that has other activities such as horseback...
