Forgive me if my memory is off, but wasn't one of the other contributing factors to the Civil War some dispute over the differences in tariffs between the Northern and Southern shipping ports?

    Whitworth

Congratulations to both buyer and seller, and that is some of the best wood I've ever seen on a Whitworth Express. I have two of these myself, and I love them; but boy it would be awesome if they had that kind of figuring. Enjoy!

    Mexico warning and heads- up

FWIW, my buddy and I did a guy's trip to Cabo in mid-May and didn't have the slightest issue or concern. Being a good guest and staying in good places will go a long way in making for a good trip.

I'm gonna plead total ignorance on this topic, but have any of you seen the brewing online fury about Section 219 of the proposed Defense Appropriations Bill for 2027, which calls for an "integration" of Israeli and US military efforts on multiple fronts? I'd love to hear the input on this...

Where is the best steak (and why)

To be honest, I'm more partial to a Brazilian churrascaria restaurant these days, but one of my favorite steak places in the DFW area is Capital Grille. There is also an excellent locally-owned place where I live in McKinney called Local Yocal that is very much worth a visit. My friend is the...

    Interarms whitworth 375 H&H?

Yep, another picture from that auction shows "1080" stamped on the action (October 1980). Looks almost identical to the 1985 ones that I have, except for the lines in the forearm checkering.

    Interarms whitworth 375 H&H?

I'm curious to know what year yours was made; there should be a month and year stamped just forward of the bolt handle. I have two that were made in mid-1985, and they both have the checkering line that @roklok referred to. Both have been excellent rifles and accurate shooters.

    Question on Browning Belgium .375

For what it's worth, I have a 1968 Safari Grade in 308 Norma Mag that still shows zero signs of any salt wood issue after all these years. My understanding is that the blanks near the bottom of the pile were the ones most affected (luck of the draw), and it was much more common with Medallion...

    Question on Browning Belgium .375

What you're looking at is probably a good functioning rifle, but I suspect resale would be a big challenge if you ever decided to sell it. As you've probably already discovered, most folks who want a Belgium Browning Hi-Power rifle want a pre-salt era CRF FN-based one. If it's a great deal...

Want To Buy Remington Model 600 Carbine in 243 Winchester

This may be a bit of a long shot, but I am on the lookout for a very specific model of Remington 600 Carbine from the mid-1960's; specifically in .243 Winchester, with the ventilated rib barrel, and in reasonably good (or better) condition. If you have one that you would be willing to part...

This is further bolstered by the factual observation that man and primates have approximately 98% matching DNA. It is disingenuous of those who say that genetic evolution and adaptation somehow equate to random chance. BTW, this line of scientific inquiry is encouraged by Proverbs 25:2: "It...

I think you did quite well, and have a great example of those rifles. I've got two of the Whitworth Express variants of that rifle, and they are great shooters. A regular Mark X like yours would probably be priced in the $1,200-1,500 range, wouldn't have the scope mount, and would have...

Sin and its consequences had to have entered God's creation prior to Adam, and even perhaps the creation of the Earth itself; when Lucifer became prideful and fell from Heaven, taking a third of the angels with him. Perhaps sin even entered prior to then, in an event that we have no record...
