Absolutely beautiful, and a great use of a Mark X. All five of my Zastava-made M98 based rifles are great shooters and have nice quality bluing, but the stock figuring is not something Zastavas are known for; and you certainly fixed that in fine style!

To loosen up the scope base screws, I would hold a hot soldering to the head of each one for several minutes and see if that melts the thread adhesive enough to break the screw loose. They do look like nice rifles, and good luck with your sale.

I feel like the Remington 30 Express took a lot of its design cues from the sporter Mausers.

Two screws, which was surprising to me, because whomever drilled and tapped it somehow managed to get the forward screw hole partially into the stripper clip hump. First time I've ever seen that, and I'd prefer it be the last time. :-)

I did a similar thing on this sporterized Sauer and Sohn M98 last year. It took while hand-filing the underside of the rear base to accommodate the stripper clip hump, but I was deliberately moving slowly to get the angles and height just right. In the end it worked out just fine.
