Renato Gamba Safari was my 375 H&H. I shot it a good bit. Killed a few dear with it. I stumbled onto a Krieghoff in 458 win mag and just had to have it so I traded my 375 for it. I loved hunting with it and do hunt with the krieghoff a good bit as long as the shots are expected to be less than...
My last trip to South Africa my PH and outfitter told us we could not pay in cash. Credit card or wire from my bank only. He said cash was a security risk.
I never thought about all the activists. I’m far enough west we live by God, family, guns. Over the last 20 years I have only seen 1 activist at the Outdoor show in Harrisburg, PA and that was when Phill Roberson was preaching.
Is there nothing in or around DC that could hold such a show? Seems there could be advantages for some elected officials and department heads to attend. It could make for some educational breakout topics.
I’m also open to trades for 500 NE factory ammo or new brass. I completed the paperwork yesterday for a 500 NE, thus the reason I’m selling this ammo. Thanks for looking.
I stopped to pick up a pizza and the preselected tip is 18%. I bet the owner wishes they made 18% profit. I fiddled with the screen until I got it changed. Anyway I’m done with the tipping culture. I was on a safari where the driver made the hunt great. His personality and ability to spot game...
I’m only shooting 2600fps with 200 grain federal bonded tipped. I have killed a truck load or loads actually with no problem. Ballistic are for writers and people to play with when they can’t be hunting. Take what you are most accurate with off sticks and enjoy Africa!
I last traveled through ADD in September 2024. Nothing had changed. Same hassle. Go to dungeon to check rifles and run like crazy to next flight. I found the form on Travel Express’s website last fall. I’m on my phone and don't know see it. Not sure if it’s still there. Good luck on your hunt.
Fortunately my 458 win mag shoots 400 Woodleigh’s and 295 grain Cutting Edge Raptors at the same point of impact. I think only the 295 when shooting prone and they are loaded at a mid load.
I have and like it better than off sticks. My mode of thinking on every shot is get as close to the ground as possible. My times that means shooting off sticks, other times it’s sitting, but given the opportunity I go prone. You should have seen the look on my PH’s face when I went prone with my...
I’ll admit I’m not a great shot off anything even though I shoot a lot. I’m group about 3 inches off sticks. We use the sticks with the front and back support. I also take a bipod and shoot prone when I can. I owe it to the animals to be as accurate as possible and I can cut my MOA in half prone.
Good job being able to wear the clothes you bought 20 years ago. Lol. About half of my Safari clothes have come from tractor supply store and gabs. I stick with heavy or lightweight cotton in drab colors. With a couple long sleeve fishing shirts. Remember Africa is full of thorns so ask your PH...
I have hunted DG with Jamy Traut and plains game with Khomas Highland Safaris owned by Phillip Hennings. Both are great operations and supporters of this forum. Happy hunting!
I have a family of 5 and hunted in both South Africa and Namibia. I would highly recommend Khomas Highland Safari in Namibia. Phillip is a great host, great lodging, pool, food, price. He is a sponsor here. Good luck.
I’m looking at a flight to Namibia out of Atlanta that connects through ADD with only a 30 minute connection time. I have flown through Ethiopia several times and always get taken to the bowels of the airport to verify ownership of my guns. Each of those trips have well over an hour of...
I need advice from someone who lives in Atlanta. What is your expectation for interstate 85 tomorrow. Temperature looks good for a little salt to keep the road only wet. I’m about 10 hours north of Atlanta and would love to come to the show.
Warning! This crowd will have you buying all kids of big bores. I like you hunt a lot of whitetail. I purchased a Krieghoff 458 win mag double. There are bullets available from 250 grain to 600 grains. I reload so I load light bullets for whitetail and heavy for Cape buffalo. I like...
Before my first Buffalo hunt I decided no frontal shots as my first shot. Hitting both shoulders with a 400 grain premium bullet takes a lot of danger away from the ph and trackers.
