Used my 338 Weatherby RPM in Namibia for eland and kudu, would definitely recommend it if you can only take 1 gun on PG hunt. Good to 500 yards on large animals.

@migrabill, have a great trip in the Bluegrass. We live about 25 minutes from Bardstown. Maker’s Mark has a great campus. Saw you like sweet whiskey, try Angel’s Envy rye if you haven’t already had some, finished in Caribbean rum barrels, it’s delicious. Their distillery is in downtown...

Trip today took us past Buffalo Trace, had to stop. Picked up EH Taylor, Blanton’s and Weller Antique. Couple bottles each and PB cookie for the wife because without her I could only get 1 bottle of each.

I have also purchased ammo from Hendershot’s that worked great for DG and PG. Recently ordered a test box of 7mm SAUM from John at Safari Arms for an upcoming Spain trip. Two of the 5 shot tests were 1-1.5 moa the third was .48 and the fourth was .36! Each rifle has a preferred ammo it seems...

You should have a great time with Gerrit and everyone at Bos en Dal. My wife and I hunted with them for our first African safari based on recommendations from Mark Biggerstaff. We had no complaints, great food, animals and experience. Looking forward to your report next year.

Took Hammer bullets to Namibia, 195 gr in 300PRC, with great success. Kudu, warthog, waterbuck and giraffe. All one shot kills.

Gentlemen, I enjoy looking at everyone’s reloading benches and rooms. I wish I was better organized as some of you. It’s difficult to build your bench or storage too big. I am glad to see some of the extensive collections of supplies, something of an inspiration.

Scheel’s will have everything you need along with very friendly helpful staff.

I like Barnes TSX, Swift A-frames and Hammer bullets for African safaris. They all have worked well. It’s the least expensive part of your trip and the only direct interaction with the animal. Also recommend you study the shot placement in Dr Kevin Robertson’s book “The Perfect Shot”.

Have used Hammer bullets in 300 PRC with great success. I’ve not measured the bullets to the ten thousandths place. Call Steve Davis he’s usually available to talk and seems like a great guy.

I had ordered one same day it was offered by EuroOptic but cancelled when it wasn’t delivered as promised. Really disappointed as I wanted to take on safari last October.

@PARA45, wife and I used GunFoam for trip to NZ. Excellent product although pricey if you take different rifles.

I also used Magpul Velcro straps to tie down the guns and bolts. Adding the soft cases on top really helps hold securely. Plus depending on placement of the spacers very little to no movement. Talked to Magpul rep at SCI Nashville who said just buy some extra spacers and trim to get a tighter...
