I Confess: I Love Tikka Rifles...

Good points, all. Please post a title to your thread on changing out to a medium bolt stop and magazine? I guess I am as long as they offer having ordered a 7mm Rem Mag. If they make a longer magazine, someone please tell me as things are a bit cramped in trying to seat a 175gr farther out.

Will reloading disapear with the new too lazy to do it generation

Just don't let the "impatient/short attention span" generation do reloading in a hurry. My youngest brother and nephew both got Lee shotgun reloader set ups and decided to mount them facing each other so they could have a race. Skipping a powder charge is an inconvenience at the clays course...

Will reloading disapear with the new too lazy to do it generation

Ultimate answer: black plastic rifles (the ones younger shooters like) shoot cheap stuff for the most part. Why reload if factory ammo is cheap and you mostly "spray and pray" anyway?

For elk, not popping open the ball joints can lead to bone sour even if temps are cold. They are just too massive and retain heat in there.

Thank you, but I meant land leeches which get under the rabbit's skin. Ugly things. Where I was raised everybody called them wolves, don't know why.

    on a lighter note...

Not on a deep level... but there are always a few church members and relatives you have to associate with who may be even opposed to hunting. I try to educate them, sometime it works, some no way.

Well, that would explain a miss my boss made back when--he looked dead on to me, but there was a heavy tuft of tough grass, and he was shooting a .410 On an additional note, any of you run into rabbits with "wolves" (land leeches?) under their hides when hunting in a bit warmer weather?

Suckers are sweet and do run up the little creeks. A bit more round shaped. Buffalo, both large mouth and small mouth is more like a carp. Flesh is white, tastes great, has 10k fan bones. In fish terms "Buffalo wings" are the rib bones and meat covering the guts that only have the long bones...

One thing I learned that will massively increase your hits on running rabbits--absolutely ignore the brush, just shoot through it without hesitation. There will always be enough pellets get through to kill a rabbit. You don't have to have a rabbit perfectly in the clear, so don't check your swing.
