Sure doesn’t look like the ring base slots in the receiver or the rings were machined wrong from Ruger. A scope should mount and zero normally from what I am seeing. Your scope shoots fine on another rifle….I’m stumped!

Do you happen to have a laser line level? You could set that rifle in your cradle and align the laser with the front and rear iron sights then see if the line perfectly centers the rifle’s scope mounting receiver cuts. If good, mount the ring bottom halves and reshoot the laser line. If still...

Ruger warns that the ring caps should not be switched between the ring sets. If you think the caps might have been switched, then it’s possible that would cause your windage issue.

No. Install both lower ring halves on the base first, then set the scope, and then add the top ring halves.

I was thinking of adding some weight or a recoil reducer in the butt so that would move the CG to where you suggest. I realize the weight alone will help with felt recoil but am curious how much CG needs to be a factor when selecting how much weight to add?

You need a pad grinding fixture for that job. I use a Miles Gilbert one from MidwayUSA that allows you to set the heel and toe angles precisely & produces a nice finished result.

I have the VX-3HD 3.5-10x40 on my -06 and like it, especially the Firedot. No complaints with the CDS so far and found no reason to remove the cap once it was zero’d to 100.

Yes, the Warne ring levers can index in any position & I assume the AAs can as well. The Warnes on my Ruger don’t interfere with the bolt cycle or loading/ejecting.

Yes, they fit Ruger’s proprietary integral base cuts and AA’s are the traditional horizontal split ring as opposed to Warne’s vertical clamp. Just aesthetics for me, I guess. These Warne rings have been great on my .375 so not throwing any shade on ‘em.
