Truck - what do you drive, and why?

I drive a 2020 GMC Denali 6.6 Turbo Diesel. It is a beast. 10 speed Allison transmission. I bought it to tow my RV. I LOVE this truck.

    Offhand vs. Sticks

I have a RSA trip scheduled for June. I contacted my PH and asked him what sticks he will be carrying for me to shoot off of while I am there. I then went and purchased the exact same sticks so I can practice off them and get used to them. That's my 2 cents.

Something Small I picked up for "tipping"

Not the case at all. Notice the word Tipping in quotes in the title? Granted - it wasn't clear enough but these in no way take the place of cold hard cash.

Something Small I picked up for "tipping"

I think you're right! I put tipping in quotes for just that reason, but I can see I was not clear enough. It won't let me edit it!

Something Small I picked up for "tipping"

I do not think people read my post correctly. I specifically stated these are not viewed as tips. I, of course, will leave cash. These do not take the place of any cash. Just something extra.

Something Small I picked up for "tipping"

I will be on my 1st African Adventure this June. I was in Cabela's and they had these multi use tools at a ridiculously low clearance price. I picked up a case of them. My thought is to hand them out to the locals who assist me. Driver, trackers, skinners, camp staff, etc. Do you guys think this...

    Gun Bag Question

In previewing Bulls Eye Taxidermy price list I see "Gun bag manufacture Standard design (excludes skin) $ 245.00" What exactly is that. Is that a rifle case made out of the leather of an animal you took? If so has anybody here done it? Have pics? Is it worth it? What does the "excludes skin"...

    Some not so common Handguns

Perhaps some of you are old enough to remember I.N.S - it was the Immigration and Naturalization Service. After 9-11, INS was abolished when DHS stood up and all the Special Agents (like myself) got moved to DHS. 1991 was INS's centennial and Smith & Wesson produced 500 of these commemorative...

I guess "Coming back" doesn't apply to me as June 2024 will be my first venture. I have 7 animals on my wish list. Impala, Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, Kudu, Blesbok, Gemsbok, and Honey Badger. The 2 that I am looking most forward to pursuing are the Kudu and the Honey Badger.

Ever check out a Goodwill store? (I got lucky!)

Phillip - You live in San Angelo?! I was stationed at Goodfellow AFB there during 1985/86. I remember sitting in the Concho Corral when the Space Shuttle Challenger blew up. Ever check out a Goodwill store? (I got lucky!)

Love this thread. My best Goodwill find ever? A complete Blue Box Beatles Collection. All 13 vinyls in Brittish Mono. Still had some of the original shrink wrap on it. It had no price tag on it. I knew it was worth about $2500. I took it to the front counter. The lady gets to looking at it...

Is it disrespectful to the animal?

So every year for Christmas my wife decorates up the house. Part of her annual ritual is "decorating" my mounted heads. My go to for a daily is Woodford Reserve, although Blanton's and Jeffersons Ocean are also up there. The best sip of bourbon I ever had was the one time I had Pappy's 15 in Kentucky in the summer of 2022. That's when I made it a point to get a bottle if I ever could.

I have never fired a rifle with a suppressor before. A few years ago I had an incident that left me with permanent ringing in one ear. When I go to RSA next June I will be using my PH's .308 with a suppressor on it. Will I need to use hearing protection while hunting? TIA.
