Have any of you tried a European 1”? I contacted Rigby and they said 1” UK but would that be the same as European or is it it’s own thing? Hopefully fitting more snug than the loose American.

I have a silent sling and was always paranoid with it breaking during hunts as mentioned above. QD looks like the way to go. On your HS does it take Euro Swivel 7/8 or 1”?

Was always curious about the takedowns. Are there more pros to it then easier to store/transport? I remember seeing a Holland&Holland Takedown in 375 not too long ago for around 15k

This would be for SA. But it seems you guys haven’t had an issue or with them checking Ammo and perhaps this is why Rigby stamped both. Appreciate it guys.

Good Evening, Has anyone had an issue bringing 7x57 Ammo to Africa instead of .275 Rigby for the Highland Stalker? After calling Hendershots they no longer carry .275 Stamped Rounds but still can make 7x57. The HS on top of the rifle says .275 Rigby but on the side of barrel says .275/7x57...

Been using MacV1s for about 450-500 miles rucking a lot and I can’t say I’ve had any issues. They are light and breath good. Definitely interested in MacV2s

So would you guys say the general consensus is for Africa Bino’s a 8x32 would be a good catch all and all you need for PG and DG hunts or is it ideal to get a 10x42 with range for the PG hunts? How important is it to have range capability for PG hunts? Thanks

Just curious what kind of scope do you plan on mounting on it?

I just recently picked up a HS also and have been looking into this. Apparently Ziegler has very good mounts they claim have 100% return to zero when installed properly and the other brand I heard about was Recknagel. Although I don’t know too much about the latter.

Initially I was leaning towards the Z6 line since they are lighter. About 5 oz lighter and would serve the purpose of hitting 400 yards with a 10x. But it seems a lot of people prefer the Z8 line. Is there a big difference between the lines besides weight and magnification? As of now I’m leaning...

Just curious what kind of 1-6 was it? In this case wouldn’t 28x be too much mag for DG? In my case for 400 yards or less. Isn’t 28x too much? Would you ever even go over 10x? Wouldn’t a 1.7-13.3 serve plenty at these ranges? Or is there something I’m missing?

This place is a great resource. I’ve checked out almost everything on the HS here and it is very helpful. I don’t know if Stevie is the same person as reg leg but he did mention somewhere a few years ago that he thought a 1.7-10x42 would be good for this set up. Which I wouldn’t mind.

If glass isn’t a factor since they will all be top notch then I guess it comes to weight and how it mounts. Ideally would want it to be a lightweight set up and the Z6 is roughly 1 lb so I think on that front it might be good. The z3 is nice but I do wanna get something illuminated.

I’ve been leaning toward either the z8 1-8 or the z6 1.7-10x42. But I would like to use low rings and gotta see if the Z6 would allow that or if it has to be a 1” tube for that to happen. Or even if it’s a big deal at all having medium rings

I was thinking this. But unsure if it really matters that the PMII is more of a tactical optic. Being how it’s 22.26 oz do you think there is a certain weight I should not be going over or trying to keep the build under a certain amount of pounds?

For kind of a lightweight rifle would the Z6i 1.7-10x42 be a better trade off since it’s 5.3oz lighter for the trade of 3.3 in max magnification? Or is the Z8 different in someway else that the Z8 line is just better?

Did you feel like the 16 max was too much or needed since you only went to 6x or as the PH liked shooting at lower mag?
