It really is. It’s all about the hunting with these guys. If you want an infinity pool and oysters each night, look somewhere else.
His facilities are very comfortable but it’s his property, amount of game and his great PH staff that keeps people coming back to him. Barry himself is...
A week ago today, as the sun dropped below the skyline, the old bull we were after finally stepped into the open. He had a mouth full of food and he didn’t like us interrupting his supper. As he dropped his head and glared at us from 35 yards, I placed a 500 grain Barnes TSX just below his...
I bought this rifle to take to Africa this year and then ended up getting a .458 Lott instead. This rifle is unfired and in excellent condition as it was when I bought it from the original owner’s son. It sat in a collection it’s whole life. Very nice wood on this one. Located in SC but will...
5 days out until we take off...we all know how these last few days speed by.
I did get my CZ 458 Lott back from American Hunting Rifles this week and the work exceeded my expectations. I had a quick range session to confirm the POI of the new iron sights at 50yds and they were dead on. I have...
I’m the PR director for Sporting Classics Magazine. I’m not much of a writer compared to our regulars but I will be writing this one.
I love the Berger VLD. That being said, it’s not very forgiving. If you put a round into an animal’s engine block, the bullet performs better than anything...
I’m definitely not a PRS shooter but I did go to a PRS school last year as a guest of Swarovski/Kahles and it was a great way to learn a few new tricks.
If I shoot over 300yds at game it’s only in the prone position with a bipod. If I can’t make that setup work, I just stay off the trigger...
My McWhorter is a 300 Win Mag. I shoot the 210gr Berger VLD. John’s is a 7STW with the 195 Berger. We’re hunting with Frontier.
I didn’t get the feeling as though you were lecturing. You offered some very solid advice. I’m not one to be quick on the trigger...especially at long range. I...
John Hill, who is going to S. Africa with me in May and then again in June, just took a few ibex in Spain with his McWhorter. 7STW. Incredibly accurate rifle.
I understand your line of thinking, for sure. The long range thing certainly rubs some people the wrong way. To me, it’s just another option in my bag of tricks. I prefer to put in a much closer stalk most of the time.
We’re in that last three week push before our next S. Africa hunt and we’re worthless at focusing on anything other than the trip. John Hill and I are taking Justin Holt with us to document the hunt as our photographer. Justin is professional photographer for some of the big names in the US...
I was unaware of this. I’ll investigate first thing in the morning and will have it corrected. If you’ll send me you email address in a message I’ll comp you a year subscription through our app. Sorry for the inconvenience!
My name is Jason Vincent and I'm the PR Director for Sporting Classics Magazine. I've bounced around on this site for the last year and have no idea why I waited until just now to create a profile. Anyway, I was just reading some feedback on American Hunting Rifles and their CZ customs and...
