Hi Monish, Very interesting info on this calibre. Do you have any idea of the trajectory when using the lighter projectiles listed? I use 270 grn in mine but wonder if I can use a 235 grn head for longer shots out to say 400 yards max? Charly

Hi Kristian55, I use a .243 in the UK for anything fro fox to fallow bucks. I use Norma 100grn sp factory ammo from 20-300 yrds. It`s too light for big red stags but perfect for our smaller deer species. The .243 is the top calibre in the UK at the moment. Hope this helps, Charly

Phil`s game farm is about four miles past Lusaka airport on the Great East Rd. He also hunts the West Petauke GMA. My parents have been out there for the past 10 years as mission workers.

My contact in Zambia has already taken a 46" sable this season and expects to take a 48/49 next season! I have some pictures of this years beast but not sure how to post them? Charly

We do have plenty around but the prices are sky high! I often use a site called guntrader.co.uk to keep track of whats on offer. I guess the same applies here as with you that lots of potentially valuable guns are given a back street polish and sold to the next unsuspecting buyer.

I will definately ask your advise before buying. I, and many other brits, shy away from the continental calibres. They are slowly finding favour in the uk, particularly the 6.5x55, but only with the recreational stalkers looking for something a little different. Charly
