Most definitely! I prefer heavier rifles and work on conditioning than going too light. My 500 with the weight added to the stock is actually very manageable and quite fun to shoot at the range. I can pretty comfortably shoot 10 or so rounds in a row before noticing discomfort. Again, it helps...

I love my stainless laminate in 30-06. It appears to be pretty picky about factory ammo though. It shoots the Norma 180gr oryx loads the best, consistently around the 1/2 MOA mark or better if I do my part.

Thanks Newboomer, the recoil doesn’t bother me too much but I’ll take every advantage I can get! The weight would definitely help settle it down some. That makes sense, it’s not like I’m shooting it exclusively in a lead sled loaded up with weight.
