Turkey

Virginia opens next Saturday - can’t wait! Added some Amazon light weight leafy full Ghili suit 2 years ago and along with TSS shot it’s a game changer.

Monroe county
Not far from where I used to hunt. My lease was actually in Coffeeville but not everyone knows where that is

My family was involved one of the last feuds in Alabama history there. So I am familiar :ROFLMAO:
That area had a couple. The Mitcham War too. The red bound book on the history used to sit on the mantle of the old house we used as a bunk house. I could be mistaken but I think the monument was somewhere on the lease, could’ve been on one of the neighboring ones.

Miss hunting there. Turkey hunting was amazing but those birds were smart.

You ain’t lying they are pretty smart around here.

No turkey this year. Knee replacement May 6. Doc says I'll be ok for dove, quail and pheasant. Getting old aint for sissies.

Found one this morning in S. Georgia on my place. Watched him fly down, purred a few times on my glass call and he came sprinting in. Shot him at 18 yards with a single shot 20 gauge that my grandfather gave me when I was 12. After I shot this one had another bird come in from behind me and whipped up on him and my decoy for 10 minutes or so. I finally had to shoo him away to go get my bird. Then I got to see this sunrise on my walk back to the truck.

Close but no cigar for my 10 year old son this morning. Had to watch this nice double beard at 75 yds for nearly an hour. No way to make a move on him or call him off the dozen hens he was with. And of course the guide got the blame- “ Dad I told you where we should sit but you decided to sit here”.

Haven’t hunted turkey in probably 20 years but love seeing these fantastic birds everyone has been taking!
I actually saw a hen on my place this weekend while fertilizing my pea patch. First turkey I’ve ever seen south of hwy 98 in my home county.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
