    Buff are tough

They are softer than the others, but they offer heavy for caliber bullets that slows them down to an acceptable range for the design. My .375 H&H shoots cloverleafs with their 350 gr soft at 2,300 fps. Their .375, 350 gr conventional solid at 2,300 fps is the deepest penetrating load I have...

I need Holster Advice (Back Country and Alaska Residents especially)

I’m with you on kydex. I initially used leather while fishing, but the elements, particularly salt when running the boat out of Valdez, are very hard on it. Kydex stands up better.

I’m glad that it appears that Hornady got their problems resolved with these bullets!

I need Holster Advice (Back Country and Alaska Residents especially)

I use a Kenai chest rig by gunfighters Inc. I have one for my .44, that’s my Alaska fishing gun, and one for a S&W .22 revolver, that’s my Alabama hog finisher and snake gun. I tried carrying a 12 ga to fish with but I kept setting the darn thing down. Not much use if a bear jumps you...

    Buff are tough

I agree, and my wrists have put me solidly back in the rapier camp. I do think a heavy rifle, in the hands of someone who can use one, opens up shots that we should not attempt with a .375. In fact, after the shot through the top of the neck I mentioned above, my PH and our common friend Len...

.458 Lott. Something you may want to consider is ammo availability. After the .375 H&H, .458 Lott ammo seems pretty easily obtainable in your neck of the woods.

    Buff are tough

I’m in the same boat. A lifetime of hockey resulted in surgery on both wrists. It just got to the point where the Lott was too much. If I do hunt buffalo again, it will be with my .375. The biggest thing you give up with the .375 are shots that you simply should not take without a larger...

    Buff are tough

I have to disagree. I have shot multiple buffalo with the .375 H&H and .458 Lott. I have also been present on a one shot kill with a 9.3x62. All will do the job, but the Lott hits dramatically harder.

    Buff are tough

I went from a .375 to a .458 Lott on buffalo. The Lott was delivering a 500 gr bearclaw at 2.300 fps. It hits like the hammer of Thor. I have not shot a .500 J, so cannot offer a comparison to the Lott.

    on a lighter note...

Question related to vehicles. I would like a quick access but secure mount for a suppressed AR in my FJ40. I take it into town and it’s an open vehicle so the mount need to lock and yet provide me quick access if I need it. Thoughts?

    Wyoming style chariot racing

Looks awesome. I always liked the wild horse races at Cheyenne frontier days.
