Thanks Mate. I will give it a go. ABF Tullamarine was more simple a on my last trip but Qatar does not fly to Windhoek anymore so will go Qantas through Sydney and overnight in Joburg.

I had similar problems and my daughter got me a therapist. I was not convinced at first but something needed to be done. So I followed her advice and it really has helped. Just my 2 cents worth.

Looks like Melb Joburg on Qatar is probably the best option from everything I read. I tried transiting in Sydney airport hotel overnight once and it was rather a hassle. Thanks all the advice. Greatly appreciated.
