A great read. Although I have read numerous books about hunting in Africa I only picked up 4 of John Burgers books recently. He wrote very well.

Unfortunately we are breathing recirculated air for the duration of the flight. There is something called I think, HVAC, that is meant to clean the air. However I too have frequently picked up some kind of bug on flights, mainly of the ENT type.

John Burger wrote several good books. J. A. Hunter also wrote some great books. Ian Nyschens book “ Months of the Sun” is a great read. There’s a lot of great books out there !

And a pretty old gun with original barrels. The left barrel is marked choke so it may have been in the colonies at some stage where a shotgun carried ball in one barrel and shot in the other. 11/4 ounces is a hefty load also.

In post #8 Hunter states that he used a 470 also. Mention is also made in his books of using a Mauser 7x57 or 275, call it what you will.
