Speer Hot Cor 235 gr 375 bullets

I’ve used the Speer 235gr bullets on several trips. Mainly for oryx in Namibia where there are great oryx. I’ve used it in Czech a couple of times on driven boar. As we are meant to only shoot animals up to 60kg clean or approximately knee high or keilers the 375 has been retired on those trips...

    160 Grain A-Frames out of a HS .275 Rigby?

European brass has a greater case capacity. Read Norma, RWS,S&B. American brass is formed from 30-06 brass I believe.

    160 Grain A-Frames out of a HS .275 Rigby?

I find it strange that a company would have a rifle built that would not accept all commercially available ammunition. My Rigby is from the 1920’s and happily digests everything. Yes it does have the blurb on the receiver stating that it is regulated for 140gr HV ammunition. Regulated means...

Have an 9.3x64 in stainless I think unsigned - but with English proof marks - weird but intriguing

With British Proof marks it could be a Mayfair action. CNC machined and eyewateringly expensive.

Do you prefer a short blade or long fixed blade knife?

These Schrade knives have served me for years. Bought long before they transferred manufacturing to China and the steel quality went downhill. The folder is a tasty German pice I use occasionally.

Back from Africa. How are you paying the bill to the PH?

I was stopped once in Frankfurt and my money was counted. Simply because I had it in a money bag inside my shirt and took it off to get through security. The security person, let’s be politically correct, asked what that was. A quick check and all was good.

    Separated From Ammo

The logistics of shipping ammunition ahead of your trip are financially a nightmare. If flying into Johannesburg, Cape Town or Windhoek there are plenty of good shops to purchase factory ammunition in most calibers for hunting. Just Google online and reserve/pay for some ammunition to collect...

    Ballistol Suppressor Cleaner

In a word, bollicks. We’ve been using them this side of the pond for years. I have never heard of one going on fire or exploding. The early ones made of mild steel rusted away. Most are made from aluminium nowadays and the first baffle is stainless steel or titanium to reduce erosion from muzzle...

Can we discuss mercury recoil reducers?

Taking a thermal scope internationally is starting to skate on thin ice.
