    Best bolt action .22lr?

It really depends on your budget and extensive use you plan on using it for, the ammo you plan on using and what kind of a setup you want. Currently I have a Savage, bought it several years ago as a replace rifle for one that was stolen. Mounted a 4-12 or 4-16 x 44 scope that was laying around...

Reloading different bullet brands of the same weight with one type of powder

My go to powders for 375H&H, is IMR4064 and 458WM are IMR4064 and/or H335. When I don't have RL7 for the 458WM. I'll have to look to see what powder I changed over to for the 375H&H. My 30-06's like IIMR4064. I never use max charge capacity. Why burn out barrels, reduce brass life, and bruise...

    How much Ammo is “Enough”?

True. I have yet to be checked-in to my flight without my ammo being weighed.

    How much Ammo is “Enough”?

I have said that, "I have enough ammo to last me a lifetime", a whole more than once. And that was before I joined this forum and was manipulated by many an enablers. LOL. As like some have mentioned in various posts, I too cut back on my firearms for different reasons. It all worked fairly...

Reloading different bullet brands of the same weight with one type of powder

I started doing this a big bunch of years ago with the whole heartily attempt at cutting costs. It worked for a few short years. My 30-06: T/C Encore along with a Savage model 110 ( dont' recall the letter C or E), Remington Model 700 BDL, and ADL liked 48.0 grains IMR4064 with 165 and 168...

Reloading different bullet brands of the same weight with one type of powder

+1 Be it 400 grain, 500 grain, even 55 grain in my 22 Hornet; bullets regardless of equal grain weight whether softs or solids theoretically should hit near the same POA/POI as long as the comparisons are with the same shape, length, actual bullet weight to actual bullet weight, etc, etc...

Can anyone recommend a good gun smith for a mauser action 458 win mag?

Where do you live in North Carolina? I use to know some gunsmiths around Winston-Salem area and currently having a 458WM being rebuilt in Hendersonville.

    CZ550 MAGNUM, 458WM Situation

Using what powder and powder charge? At what velocity? What size groups and what yardage? I can get Hornady 500 grain bullets to group 3-4 inches at 50 yards. However, Barnes 500 grain Solids and Woodleigh 500 grain RN SN won't group with 63.8 grains RL7, having an average velocity of 205 9.9...

    CZ550 MAGNUM, 458WM Situation

@Riflecrank It seems you still don't comprehend what information I am asking for? My guess is, you perhaps didn't read my questions? EDITED for Clarity:  B, I, U, spaced ?, highlighted, Although it is somewhat suttle, perhaps you didn't comprehend that I reload and thereby I am aware of the...

    CZ550 MAGNUM, 458WM Situation

Not sure if you are asking a serious question or being stupid, or in your words Absolute dufus. I am fully aware of the comparison 458WM (aka 458 special) / 458 Lott (aka 458 magnum). Much the same as comparing 38 spl/ 357 mag or 44 spl/ 44 mag.

    CZ550 MAGNUM, 458WM Situation

Long story short I have/had a 458WM ready for my trip. That 458 Win Mag is now in for serious unplanned repairs and custom work. I wanted a rifle in the same caliber to minimize my reload development and testing due to the short time frame for my upcoming trip. And at the end of my trip a...
