Wait a minute. Junior wasn't there when the cat was treed and apparently it took some time for him to arrive. He pulled the trigger. But somehow he's been taken advantage of because he expected a "free range" hunt? He didn't have to pull the trigger. He could simply say this wasn't what he...
I don't know about Montana or Utah but in Alaska there is a specified time limit between when an animal can be spotted from the air and hunted (two days?). Spotting an animal for a client and letting him stalk it is what typically happens in Africa. Big difference chasing something up a tree...
Even the game warden at the check station didn't know why or when the license had to be signed. Nothing in the regs or on the license provided any instructions. Nothing on the license saying "by signing this you acknowledge blah, blah blah." Next year I called Helena and spoke to Hank W who...
So Don Jr gets a call on his phone they have a cat treed for him. Gets in the truck and goes to shoot it. At least he apparently wasn't with the party when the cat was treed (if hunting cougar with dogs was legal in Utah and I'd be surprised if it was not). He may not have known showing up...
No one seems to know why the tags/licenses have to be signed anyway. To compare to the signature on the drivers license? But the photo on the license should be sufficient to prove the same guy possesses both licenses. How does signing a tag keep it from being used again? The date is punched...
In Montana I have to sign my tag before hunting. Technically anyway. Nothing on the tag says when to sign it. Just a line for signature. I asked the guy at the check station a few years ago and he said before hunting but they don't much give a shit. Just prove it's your tag and properly...
As far as I know anyone can plant pheasants and shoot them in Montana. The Hutterites do a good business raising the birds and selling them to ranchers. I have shot a couple over the years I'm sure. Don't know why anyone would bother spending their own money planting pheasants on government...
Wearing the wrong clothes waterfowl hunting? What kind of clothes did they regulate had to be worn for that? Wait ..
was it a state where hunter is required to have license on the back of jacket?
Not many places in US legally allow baiting. Junior should have checked into that before sitting over the barrel of donuts. I certainly would have. Not that I would ever be interested in shooting anything over bait.
My two dogs add significantly to the methane pollution inside my house. Very bad inside the vehicle too especially when we're bird hunting in Montana. "Gawd, Ellie! Do you need to wipe yourself? Argh!" I can live with it fine. Just be careful about open flames. :D
No pain no gain. Of...
If no powder goes in the shell, the crimp will usually invert ... badly. Then all the shot falls out. Half loads are when a fella can get fooled. Crimp is just tight enough to fool you. Keep an eye on the bottles. And keep them clean enough so you can keep an eye on them.
I remember that horror story. Definitely don't take your wife/girlfriend! I'm the kinda guy who appreciates adventure but that safari had too much of the wrong kind. :D
Last I knew raising bontebuck was highly regulated. Behind fences only and no blesbuck anywhere near them. This is to keep blesbuck from interbreeding which apparently is not uncommon. To restore the species fully requires pure gene pool.
I wouldn't pay the airfare to fly across the street for an impala hunt. Warthog might take a day or two if not baiting them. If baiting or over a waterhole, the "hunt" is an afternoon project. Just for kix why don't you ask for their trophy fees list for all available species and then get...
