I had to pay a 50% Deposit for my Africa work. I mean, afterall, I have mainly floor pedestals coming. They contract out that work and have pedestals made for me. They have to pay for that. They have to pay the tannery. I don't expect them to go in the hole.
Not sure which trip you are asking about. My South Africa hunt was with Van Wijk Safaris. My March hunt in Argentina will be with El Pampa Hunting Ranch.
1) My one and only 10 day Safari to Limpopo South Africa in June of '24.
2) My Western Maryland Bear hunt in 2015. Beat ridiculous odds to get pulled for a tag, and took one of only 50 bears allowed that year. Rare trophy for sure.
3) I used to do an annual Bunny hunt with Traditional Archery...
For first safari, South Africa is highly recommended. From selection of animals, to price, to ease of flights, to stability of government, but MAINLY - ease in getting your trophies back.
The typical (which this guy is not) state record for Kentucky muzzleloader is 204 2/8 inches, The largest non-typical buck harvested by a hunter was a 260 1/8-inch buck. So my deer, at 209 7/8, is really not that close.

It has been a year and a half since I got back and I just reread my hunting report. I am really glad I wrote it. It is amazing how many details I had forgotten. Man.... now I want to go back more than ever.
