I thought I saw a set over on long range hunting not too long ago.

It is also suggested to prevent lazy scammers from taking the pics and using them to make scam ads. If you put the paper over a part that is hard to photoshop in, it makes it harder for them.

That sounds interesting too. Could always use a 300 norma mag case to shorten a little more too. I wonder how that case improved would do? And with a bullet seated out a little more.

That was my goal, but with using lapua brass being a bonus.

I was thinking of stuff off of an 300 ultra case too. Mostly 416 or 375 is what I had pondered. But I really want something in .458 for some reason.

Yes and no. I just like the idea and want something to do for fun. No big deal to have a local guy laser etch the case head to make it all match the stamp on the barrel. I'm more interested in the lapua brass.

They shortened the case up. I haven't really look into if they bumped the case pressures up though. The main thing for me is to be able to use good 338 lapua brass that I already have a lot of.

We just have to remember that all reloading primers and a lot of powders that they sell to the public are surplus to the contracts that they have. We only get leftovers. When their manufacturing products of final product availability changes we are the last ones to get anything. I started...

I was thinking of necking up the lapua to 458 or even 416. Have any of you done this for hunting in Africa? Only saw guys doing this for ELR stuff mostly on other forums. What kind of performance did you get? Thanks, Kyle
