Comment by 'Christot' in media 'Abnormal Kudu Trophy'

Some deer types will have similar anomalities when losing their testicles. Would be interesting to know if this was observed on this Kudu as well.

Frustrated! Angry! The Curse of Africa!

MRSA infections can be medicated with antibiotics of another group like Linezolid , Daptomycin, Tigecyciclin or Ceftarolin and Cefobiprol. Bacteriophages might also be an option. In most regions you'd get isolated until this is solved. Hope you recover fast!

The US is the biggest oil producer in the world, see https://www.statista.com/statistics/237115/oil-production-in-the-top-fifteen-countries-in-barrels-per-day/ But it does consume far more than it produces, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_oil_consumption Compared to other...

    English v German/Austrian gunmakers

When comparing 1906 with recent statistics it should be noted that in 1906 iron sights were mostly (>90%) used. Shooting distances on game can be quite long in the Alps which made most game out of reach for the average hunter those days.

Rhino YT vid Wetpack test Rhino 9,3x62

The test has some interesting findings. Penetration was not correlated with bullet weight. The heaviest bullet penetrated less than all other bullets. The 285gr bullet was the sweet spot outperforming all others. What would be interesting to know is whether all loads had the same muzzle energy.

    Reloading 9.3x64

You missed the part with the burned powder charge leaving the barrel which contributes to recoil. The 9.3x64 is more efficient than the .375 H&H = burns less powder -> lower recoil.

    Boeing Aircraft

Sorry, but when Volkswagen had to pay $2.8 billion for cheating US emmission tests (in summery more than 25 billion) the 1 Billion for killing people look like a bargain. If they would be treated like Volkswagen they would need to pay Trillions.

Is Blaser Trying To Price Themselves Out Of The American Market???

As this being an R8 conversation: please note that even though in Europe (Blaser being a German company) many people are ordering a threaded barrel this always comes with a premium to a non-threaded one as it adds additional costs (not only threading the barrel but you need to proof the barrels...

Is Blaser Trying To Price Themselves Out Of The American Market???

There are many countries in Africa where surpressors are not allowed with Namibia and South Africa being an exception. This is something which could be added to the "Hunting info by country" section of this forum by the way.

US halts ammo and firearm export

If you think things can't get worse, you're wrong. Let's see whether the 90 days will not be extended. Hope you have everything you need or good alternatives. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-halts-exports-most-civilian-firearms-90-days-2023-10-27/ BR

    Reloading 9.3x64

I had no problem getting an accurate load with Swift A-Frames (286gr) in combination with RS60. When using either GRT or Quickload velocity was underestimated. Both assume the initial pressure being very high (750 bar). Reducing initial pressure to 250 bar gave much better results. After talking...

    Lufthansa

In case of Eurowings Discover (the 2nd part is important): it's the leisure airline of the Lufthansa group and they work under the same conditions. Used them already exactly for this reason. https://www.eurowings-discover.com/en/
