    ARGENTINA: Epic Argentina hunt

I feel you on the plane travel. I'm not a giant, but pretty tall and broad so I can't sleep on planes and hate wedging into an airplane bathroom. I also have the stomach of a Victorian Era toddler so travel days for me usually consist of nothing to eat and very little to drink.

Why all the hate for CBL (Captive-Bred Lion) Hunting?

There is so much nuance in something like this. Hunting an animal that was bred and raised for the lone reason of being released, to shortly thereafter be hunted, will get the side eye from the vast majority of people. Make it a lion; one of the most epic, old Africa hunts imaginable, and that...

    Texas Nilgai price. OUCH

Free range nilgai and West Texas aoudad have been on my to-do list since I was a kid. Both seem to be pacing college education levels of inflation. I did hunt them on the Laguna Atascosa draw hunt a few years back. In regards to the two day hunt, I have a friend that did some guiding when he...

"Stolen Valor" - in the hunting field/industry

Some of my buddies went on a black bear hunt in Canada back in the mid 2000's. This operation offered whitetail hunts as well, including some in not so large enclosures. Owner mentioned they have clients who will pick a buck out online, the outfitter kills the deer, mounts it, and ships it to...

    Any Freemasons on this forum..?

My Grandmother gave me my Great Grandfathers Masonic Bible before she died. I'm neither religious, nor a Mason (my Great Grandfather died when I was fairly young so never brought it up. Wife's Grandfather hinted to me about it, but he also died soon after), but she knows I love books, and it...

Word of caution (first hand) about hunting Mexico now

We're going to Cancun later this year. Been there a few times. Cozumel. Never felt unsafe, but aside from riding all around Cozumel on mopeds we tend to take a private car from the airport to the resort and only leave for scuba or fishing. My first instinct was to recommend Belize to you...

Word of caution (first hand) about hunting Mexico now

I know of quite a few guys who have deer leases in Mexico and seem to get along without problems. Most of them say once you get a little away from the border everything calms down. That said, I had a client, a decade or so back, who owned an oilfield services company in West Texas. He leased an...

CANADA: WTA & Northway Outfitters Saskatchewan

I knew this outfitter sounded familiar. Wasn't until you mentioned the Mosquito Reservation that it clicked. Used to daydream watching those videos as a kid. I agree with it being tough to keep a good thing going in the outfitting business. Seems the majority have a limited shelf life...

Great list. Not sure how many copies of Death in the Long Grass I've bought. Seems to never make it back to me when I loan it out.

Can I bring my own bottle of booze to South Africa

Went on a school based trip to Europe as a 15 year old. One of the other girls from our school bought a bottle of liquor for her mom as a gift and stuck it in her checked bag for the flight home. While unloading luggage off our tour bus it busted and soaked everything. This gal was a few...
