Novice reloader here. Why are some 404 J components .422 and others .423. I thought .423 was the correct number. I'm looking for a trimmer pilot for my 404J on the Lyman Universal Trimmer.

Self teaching myself ...to load 35 Whelen. Resizing and trimming no problem. Working on perfect bullet seating depth. Then finally loading. 200 grain barnes ttsx with CFE223.

I suppose, if I should ever make it to Africa, I will take my newly acquired 404J for my Buff and either my 35 Whelen or 300 H&H for plains game.

I'm relatively new to the reloading world. Is a taper/factory crimp for required? I got a set of redding dies in the purchase, standard 2 piece.

I have not owned a M77, but I have an RSM M77 MKII and a Hawkeye African. The MKII is my favorite, but I am biased because its the RSM model. I do love my Hawkeye African after the action smoothed out.
