Old thread revival! I was contemplating buying a CZ action from Wayne at AHR, then a barrel from somewhere, and then a custom stock. Finally, I would have it all put together by some gunsmith. Wayne recommended a fellow in Montana.
Not all at once because I can't afford that haha. Am I crazy?
Yea, I don't mind the pad, but the more I looked at it the more I thought it might have been refinished. Guy said it was on consignment and would not come down on price.
Is this a good price for a Model 70 300H&H?

Ok, I thought maybe they were just discontinuing the 416 Remington chambering. Kimber did the same thing with the Caprivi, got rid of the 416 and the Lott, kept the 375 H&H for a while.
Same here in Southern Louisiana. I was shocked by seeing several traditional Model 70s at a local gun show last weekend. Most of the wood was on the military garands and springfields. Otherwise overwhelming black plastic.
My choices exactly! I'd take an 89B in 500 and a Martini in 416 as well haha. Inhave no basis on which to qualify these choices save all the books and articles I have read, as well as other media.
I have been watching that one for months and its a bit rich for my blood right now. It was at $4500 or something like that when I first started watching it. Such a shame CZ does not make rifles like that anymore. I missed the boat.
Thanks for the response on an old thread! I see Dakota 76's in 330 Dakota for sale from time to time, at god prices, but I knew the ammo was non-existent and brass is rare. I am not a reloader, yet. Just wanted to know what I could do with one if the price was right for the rifle.
