Opinions on the Interarms mark x 458wm

Parkwest Arms is the new name for Dakota Arms. I have one of their 3 position safeties installed on my Mark X. It is of very good quality. https://parkwestarms.com/product-category/mauser98safety/

Opinions on the Interarms mark x 458wm

I am a fan of the Interarms Mark X. They are very good actions and offer a great deal of value for the money. IMO, $950 is a little on the high side, but not unreasonable. You will be getting a solid rifle for your money.

375h&h guidance - bullets, dies, and brass

I am just beginning to work with TS 15.5, but not in 375 H&H. I am finding that it is not as slow burning as I had expected. In .308 Win, powder charges are staying within one full grain of VARGET and picking up about 40 to 50 fps in muzzle velocity. TS 15.5 will sit between VARGET and H4350...

    Scope Reliability

I liked the old Meopta Artemis scope line a lot. They were very rugged optics. I have a 1.5-6x42. It has a 30mm STEEL tube, so it is on the heavy side. It is built like a tank and has excellent glass in it. To this day, I have yet to see its equal in low light conditions. My only criticism...

Why a .338 WM in Africa?

There is so much overlap between the 338 Win Mag and the 375 H&H, I would see those two rifles as a 338 Win Mag OR 375 H&H proposition, rather than a pair. It would not make sense to me to carry both rifles to Africa. Either one would be a suitable choice for a one rifle, plains game only...

Anybody own a 350 Remington Magnum?

Remington factory 200 grain CoreLokt ammunition averaged 2682 at the muzzle. Handloads developed for the previous barrel averaged right at 2700 with the same bullet. I am getting ready to begin load development with the 200 grain CoreLokt bullets I have on hand. I also plan to obtain some...

    Zastava rifles in 458 wm

I consider the Zastava commercial mausers to be the most under-the-radar rifles out there. I LOVE the Zastava mausers. However, I see them as an excellent base for a semi-custom rifle build. If a person is looking for something that is serviceable as is, out of the box, they are not a good...

Need a small temporary reloading bench

The height of my toolbox allows me to do my reloading from the seated position. Use of a my mobile reloading kit (the one in the ammo box) allows me to use a desk or any flat surface.

Need a small temporary reloading bench

I also have a mobile reloading kit that fits in a plastic ammo box. Not pictured is the Lee Hand Press that is normally also in this box.

Anybody own a 350 Remington Magnum?

I have a Remington Model 600 in 350 Rem Mag. When it came into my possession, it had been modified quite a bit from its original configuration. It sported a nice hardwood stock with a schnabel forearm and aftermarket bottom metal. Though the wood was pretty, the forearm length and barrel...

Why did you buy a 6.5 Creedmoore?

My situation is almost the exact inverse of the OP's take. I don't own a 6.5 Creedmoor because I own two 6.5x55's. Because of the rarity of off-the-shelf 6.5x55 rifles in the US, I had mine built. My Swedes are perfect for me because I am a rifle crank and a dedicated handloader. For someone...

Request for .275 Rigby/7mm Mauser Load Data

The Barsness guidelines are very good guidelines to follow. Like you, I have found 7mm-08 data to be useful as a sanity check for my 7x57 (in terms of overall ballistic potential). However, 7x57 case capacity is VERY different from 7-08 case capacity. Depending which makes of brass are being...
