    Traveling with ammo

Just to add to this, my ammo and guns have always made it. I do make sure that if possible my guns and ammo are checked all the through. My buddy showed up late in Argentina, American Airlines did check his luggage all the way through. At his stop in Chile he had to recheck his shotgun. The...

    Traveling with ammo

I see the reply pop up from time to time, only take this caliber in the event your ammo gets lost. Typically if your ammo doesn’t show up it means your suitcase / duffel bag or gun case didn’t make it. So let us hear about your experiences while traveling.

270 LRX in 375 Ruger on game up to Buffalo

I am loading 270 grain and 300 grain Barnes with H414. Out of my 375 Ruger African I am getting 2550 fps, which is what the Hornady DGX 300 grain load clocked at. I still have plenty of room to go up in velocity if I need to. I also loaded some Sierra 270 grain with the H414 these where light...

Next up is practice on the life size Buffalo. I put it up in the living room. My wife walked in and asked my what I was doing, I told her putting up new wall paper. I received a roll of the eyes and the reply “ Seriously what are you doing?”. I replied getting ready to practice. I was told dry...

Trip to the range yesterday. Prior to the range trip. I ran a stone across the the face of the recoil lug on the factory rings. No high spots, so I remounted making sure recoil lug had firm contact with the front of the slot. Three goals for this trip. 1. Zero rifle at 75 yards. Rifle zeroed...

    Charging buffalo target

Pretty easy to rig up a lateral motion moving target. Telephone poll or tree, steel cable, and trolley system. Same set up for one coming at you. They work ok. You need a lot of elevation on pole, a hill helps. The rail systems are very expensive. The systems that are motorized that are cheaper...

    Best bolt action .22lr?

The CZ 457 is great 22LR. Bunch’s of people shoot it in PRS and NRL22. Mine will shoot sub MOA at 75 yards with SK Long Range Match. It is paired with a Vortex 6-24. The higher power helps with shooting the 1/4 wide targets at 90 yards or more. The Area 419 20 MOA rail also helps with the longer...

    How much Ammo is “Enough”?

How much is enough? I don't know I am not there yet. Is the OP really a hunter or is he an undercover agent for FBI, CIA, ATF or...:P Ninja: All I know is that I didn't do it and I wasn't there. If you have video I was coerced.
