They are an impressive Trophy and the Norhern Territory is a really interesting part of Australia with very good salt water fishing and wild boar opportunities also.
The point I was trying to make is that there does not seem to be an abundant number of good outfitters for Kyrgyistan and having a bad experience is the norm not the exception.
To clarify, my extortion comments were more aimed at the Outfitter who charged us to get our rifles back after they were confiscated at the airport. This was because the Outfitter made a mistake with the dates on our licences. These expired the day before we were due to fly out. Instead of just...
I feel it is a fairly bold statement, just to say, " Find a good Booking agent and go"
Even if the booking agent has good intentions, They are still using a hunting guiding operation in Kyrgyistan and I dont know of a single such entity that has a good reputation. Believe me i have spent many...
I'm heading to fiji around August 2025 for a holiday with my wife. I'm going to take along a 4 piece heavy popping rod and a good selection of lures.

Since I did my trip I have heard the same thing from other hunters who have used him. Lots of more...
I have heard nothing but horror stories lately about hunting in Kyrgyzstan. My own trip in 2022 with an Australian Outfitter was a disaster in many ways.
The in country hunting guides behaviour was atrocious, complaining to us about the lack of tips, despite the fact we had tipped them over 9K...
He pretty much focuses on Aussie and Kiwi hunters. So hard to get a good 8 point Sika in NZ unless its in a glorified Pen.
There are a couple of execeptions. Ngamatea and Poronui Station are free range private land stations in NZ but you will pay for a hunt there.
Japan is still the best bet...
To be fair, i have had no issues flying into the NT with Firearms as a QLD resident and did it regularly before i settled in the NT. The airlines are only interested in the fact that you have a gun licence and and thats it. Sounds like a different scenario for overseas visitors
