Has anyone else gotten their ivory without using an importer? It’s hard to make sense of $2500 for filing a simple application. If the PH in Zimbabwe has the license fee records and general conservation plan for the area what does the importer do to justify such a high fee?

416 Rigby ammo is available in Africa. Many PH own a CZ 550 chambered in that caliber. If you can find those CZ 550 you would enjoy it. Frankly, the greater concern is that you practice with that rifle a lot and get really good with it!!

You can’t go wrong with a 1x6 Leupold VX6 with fire dot. It turns your 404 Jeffery into a long range shooter and close bush gun. I used my 450 Rigby on a croc at 77 yards, Impala at 56 yards and Elephant at 15 yards. All well placed 1st shots because I had a bit of magnification!
