I know that its hard as American to become a PH and all, but with grit and determination it be possible.
I'm currently working on my college degree in range science w/ wildlife managmen option. I have applied for
summer research intern in SA and am looking at Bush-wise field guide accedemy. Its six months of class
room and 6 of guiding as a tourist field guided in parks of with protecting researchers. Is this a good start, plus
I'm trying to get my name out there to outfitters and other PH's for help and maybe apprentiace under them.
One last thing I read that you need only permant residency for being a SA PH has that changed?

Welcome to AH...

Good Luck on your quest...

good luck mate
your definately working hard to live your dream
enjoy the site and i hope you kick your goal

Welcome to the forum, and good luck !

Good luck! I'm a zoology student and looking into wildlife management as well. Being a PH would be incredible. I didn't really know it was possible as an American. I'm going to have to look into it.

Well further on the journey. Got accepted for a summer intern just outside of Kruger NP.

Congrats Longbow! That's awesome!

Good luck enjoy the ride!

You only have to be permenant resident of Republic of South Africa to be PH there. Got this from the top, asked the President of Professional Hunters of RSA.. "Hunting is not a hobby its a life style"

It is a good start.
The Field Guide course will definitely help you learn the local botany and critters.
It is a tough course.
No idea about that academy.

Good luck.

Excellent - hope you enjoy it.

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
