I bought this Beautiful Custom Rifle from a friend of my Father in law recently. It's built on a BRNO action and chambered for .350 Rigby Magnum. I must say , I'm in love with the sleek feel of the gun ! I can't wait to give it a try over the weekend . It appears to have the early pre '76 BRNO action which l am a big fan of. I can't wait to try this beauty on my first African plains game Safari next year . I contacted Kynoch who have both soft nose spitzer bullets and round nose FMJ 225 grain solids in stock . As soon as l get my hands on some good ammo , l will report the results at the range , here.. I wonder who could have built this gun . A BRNO action rifle in .350 Rigby is a pretty unusual find.

I Like the caliber
I ordered some Kynoch Soft points and solids which are on the way . In the mean time , the guy who l bought the gun from , from kind enough to supply me with some of his left over loose rounds for the rifle. I got 8 rounds of .350 Rigby Magnum with the gun : 5 soft nose spitzers , 3 solids with FMJ round nose heads. Since l won't ever hunt with old ammo , l decided to fire it off at my farm last night. The rifle is VERY accurate. It shoots less than 1 inch groups at 100 yards ( with iron sights ! ) . Recoil is pretty mild. The gun cycled properly everytime , l operated the bolt. I gave it a good oiling after l was done. There is no bore fouling on the rifle or any worn rifling. So far l am really happy with it.

Very nice find Hoss! With it shooting 1" groups I'd be tempted not to scope it and compromise the sleek handling of it.

Hoss, please be aware that a couple of thousand other guys would have jumped at the chance to buy that rifle if given the chance. With you shooting irons the way you do, if you ever scope the rifle make sure to use QD / QR rings. BTW between the unusual calibers and or specific projectile desires of your Dad you are going to have to start reloading.:rolleyes:

Ah , reloading. I've never done it , preferring factory ammo myself . But l am open to learning :) l currently ordered some Kynoch loads from kynamco. 225 grain Solid round nose full metal jacket rounds , and 225 grain soft point spitzer rounds . But maybe reloading will be an affordable alternative for casual shooting. .It's Pinpoint accurate.

Hoss, it will cost you a few bucks to get started reloading, but after that it is virtually pennies on the dollar. Well maybe not that cheap but 20% of factory prices is realistic. For most of us, reloading is almost as enjoyable as shooting.

I can easily see myself handloading for plinking , Target practice or hunting local deer. For African Game, I will use the Kynoch loads until l am confident in my loading abilities . I exchanged some nice correspondence with the Hunter who will be my PH next year . He advised soft nose on most of the plains game and advocates using solids only if we are 100 % sure that no other animals are behind our intended Target. He likes meplat solids more than round nose. But said that round nose will also do fine.

The question soon asked is do you reload so you can go shooting or do you go shooting so you can reload. The reloading for our rifles gains us an intimate knowledge of the rife that shooting factory ammo never can and increases the dimensions of our love of (or addiction) these pieces of engineered and crafted excellence.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!
