Contemplating making an offer on a used Holland and Holland 375 rimless bolt action and would like your guidance/opinions.
This is what I know so far:
Manufactured pre 1925
Serial # D10169 although can't find a reference for this serial number any where
Barrel is clean no pitting or excessive wear.
Wood looks good
No work done to it in the past 30 years
Here are a few pictures
Thanks

Fantastic looking rifle. What is it going for?

Are you buying it to use or as a collector?

@rookhawk this is your speciality!

You don’t want it, send me the contact info for the seller![emoji12]

I’d be calling H&H with the info you have to get the straight poop on this rifle. And I’d for dang sure want an inspection period which included the ability to shoot the rifle.

Thanks, I did send them an email with the same information, haven't heard back.

If it was here in SA for 7k I would have snapped it up immediately.

Very nice looking rifle.

don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but what custom/semi custom rifle could you get built for the same money?
modern stock design seems to have more to offer for a start.
take the name H&H away from that rifle, and what would you think of the finish?
bruce.

The finish for a nearly 100 year old rifle is super in my opinion.

It isn't just about a name its what that name represents, a Africa of old, a history second to none if not for Holland &Holland there might never have been a 375 caliber.

Who know where this rifle has been? Who has shot it, what it might have seen and hunted...

All this adds to the rifle that you just cant get with a modern gun no matter how shiny and new it might be.

I agree with @Roan on this one. No new $7000 rifle will come close to a 100 year old HH assuming it is in good condition. It is all a matter of perspective and what happens to float your boat. The HH has a story to tell and a history which the new rifle can never have!

If this rifle is as it seems, I could see a bidding war for this wonderful bit of history!

Hi cls,

Seems to be made with a true Magnum Mauser action. Also seems, to me, to have been re-blued.
So, nice "shooting", not "display" rifle!! If the rifle is in good working order and at that price, is a bargain!
Agree with PHOENIX PHIL. I would inspect closely the rifle before buying.
Good luck!

Wow, what a beauty! (y)(y)(y)

I agree that is a nice looking rifle. Re the possibility of it being re-blued, I own rifles that were made in the mid 30s that look every bit as nice as this one and they haven't been re-blued. I do have a question though, what are the differences if any between a 375 H&H Rimless and a 375 H&H Magnum?

Hello,

I saw your post selling left hand rifles. Do you have any additional pics of the .416 Rem mag?

Thank you.
