30 Nosler - 180 or 200? NP or A-Frame?

Headed to Eastern Cape in Sept for plains game. Normally I use Bergers here in the States, but looking to develop a load for my 30 Nosler for plains game — zebra, kudu, gemsbuk, impala.

180 gr at 3150 fps Nosler Partition or A-Frame?

Or

200 gr at 3000 fps Nosler Partitio or A-Frame?

Either 180 (I personally think the A-Frame is superior, but both will get the job done) - I would use both on anything larger than a mouse before a Berger - but I am old school). The 180 will handle anything on your list and the Eastern Cape is famous for often requiring a bit of reach - you negate a bit of that capability with the 200. A supremely accurate magnum .30 180 will handle any situation you will face. Have a great hunt!

Shot 12 PG from Springbok to Black Wildebeast with NP 180 gr. 300 H&H. DRT. Have shot NP for 40 yrs. Not always the best bullet for every situation but the best bullet for any situation!!

Yeah Berger are wonderful at 6- 800 yds when they don't show all the missed or wounded animals because someone read the wind wrong. Didn't someone mention killing an animal with a frozen herring??

+3 A Frame. But the Accubonds would be great or the Sirrocco II's. In the 30 Nos I would be tempted to use the 200's, more penetration/versatility especially at close range. But this might not be so much of an issue with bonded bullets.
PS - I shot a large black bear a while back using the Sirrocco 2 out of a 270WSM at about 50 yards. Through the point of the shoulder and exited through the ribs on the opposite side. Bear dropped on the spot a didn't twitch before the bark dislodged from the tree behind it by the bullet hit the ground.

Did you ever use them? Most of the badmouthing on Bergers is done by:

a: people that are connected with a competing bullet company
b: someone who tried them and couldn't get them to shoot accurately (the VLDs are for experienced reloaders only)
c: someone who couldn't hit anything past 100 yds.
d: someone who NEVER shot at ANYTHING past 200 yards
e: someone who never used them.
f: people that don't practice ENOUGH.
g: "Hunters" with more money than skill.

Having said that, I've used them on over a 100 plains game animals, out to 700 yards all DRT or walked less than 10 yards, first and only shot. Can't remember how many I've shot over 400, one shot, first shot kill, wind or no wind. If it suits you, stick with old tech. The Bergers are for those that have the need, and the ability to shoot long distance in all conditions. YMMV.

180gr A-Frames loaded with plenty of bullet jump(.050"+) and you are good to go. Be sure to really clean the barrel after shooting the other bullets. The Swift bullets have a pure copper jacket and if you start with a really clean barrel you can shoots lots of them without fouling. My last trip to Africa I shot 50+ rounds and still had great accuracy and very little fouling when I cleaned it at home.

Clean means not #9. I use wipe-out followed by Sweets 7.62 or Barnes CR-10 then Butches Bore Shine. Then oil if not shooting right away.
