OK, here is a stupid question.

On the TSA locks I have read where you can tell that it was unlocked by TSA when you retrieve your luggage.

I was wondering just how do you tell? Do they put a tag on it or is there something that pops out on the lock where you can tell?

There's a little place on the lock that "pops" and show red if I recall right when triggered. So you know the lock has been opened with a TSA key.

And Yes they put a card in your luggage to show that they were in looking around.

Thanks, I actually had one sitting next to my computer and was playing with it and was wondering.

It is always nice to know what happens when a lock is opened when only you and a government official have a key for it.

Just remember, the government is here to help. :sneaky::sneaky::sneaky:

@Royal27 my grandpop used to tell me "Always be careful when the government says they are here to help you, that's that they told the Indians too." Good

The bitch that opened my luggage then my pelican box on my RETURN and after we flew from Washington DC to San Francisco where they opened it. Just a bit late I would say if I had a bomb in it left her name on a tag. Oh She also stole my Rand money I was bring back for a souvenir and my Bushnell Backtracker.
I called and complained but that was a joke. The next time I think I will fill it with manure or maybe a cobra snake. Let them open it then :)

"Usually", if TSA opens your luggage and inspects it, they will leave a form inside. TSA is actually required to do this. Sort of their calling card.

standing at the baggage carousel at heathrow after flying from miami my case came around with tape holding it together. the tsa at miami decided to force/rip the lock off even though it was a tsa one and ripped the zip fastener part off,so it was buggered.........and there was the letter/card inside saying we did this check for your safety and hope you dont mind and there is no come back (or words to that effect!!! ) had to buy a new case at gatwick. :A Blowup:

I used the TSA locks on every trip but did not realize you could tell the lock had been opened with their key! Each time they have opened something the calling card was in there!

It's my understanding that TSA locks are only good in the USA or it's territories, other countries will still cut them off if they want to inspect you luggage. That has happened to me. I don't bother any more with them.

Idk but it's irrelevant because we had TSA locks on all our bags and TSA cut them all off anyway when we got home.

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
