I am needing to buy a press for my reloader to start reloading for my 500 A2. What is the opinions on this Lee press? It seems like I read where the newer version had some change that people did not like
Thanks

I don’t use mine much, but I have no complaints. The only thing I can think to complain about is the bushing system. If you use 1” dies, have to pay $30 or so for a bushing.

Mine came with the bushing, but you bring up a good point; you need the bushing regardless and there is something reassuring about having all calibers covered.

The only die I have that's not 1" is the Lee Factory crimp die for my .470ne.

I've owned Lyman, RCBS, Dillon and most others. The Lee is as good as any of the others, and cost half as much. The only issue would be the on press priming system. I prefer a bench mounted or hand prime, so it's not a big deal to me.

My bench currently has 3 Lee presses with Inline Fabrication mounts. I reload everything from 14 Pipsqueak to 450 Rigby.

That was one thing I forgot, I also have mine on an Inline Fabrication stand. Makes using it much better.

I used mine on the Lee independent stand which also worked surprisingly well. I upgraded to a Redding press, but don’t see much of a difference in functionality other than ergonomics.

I have on old 2015 model & love it it gets lots of use, also have a Redding, Lyman, Simplex an Australian copy of RCBS rockchuker & a new MEC meltalic press , the LEE is as good as any. I do not use any of the quick die change systems i think they are unnecessary .

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
