Folks,

Juan Loco is a member here and my grandfather. He has asked me to list a few items as he has poor internet connection and would like to liquidate a few unused guns.

For your consideration is a 338 Win built on a VZ24 action. I am unsure who built this rifle, but it has been in the collection unified by us for quite some time.

$650 plus shipping from my FFL to yours. Payment is cashiers check it personal check and would like to verify funds before shipping. Located in South Central MO

Nice rifle, and GLWS! For what it's worth, I think the first picture is actually of that Ruger M77 458 that you also posted.

You are correct! My apologies. Moderators, please remove the first photo if possible
You may still see an Edit option at the bottom of your original post if it hasn't been too long. I'm not sure what the time limit is.

Can you send me a couple pics of the 338 please.

Brno vz.24 is as good as it gets for 98 Mauser clone action. And the caliber is excellent for pretty much everything. I have seen vz.24 actions alone in military configuration go for $300-$400. It still has military bottom metal in excellent condition which says something about amount of use before modification. Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with military bottom metal. Unloading by dumping the shells is not needed and this action should snap over on the extra round dropped in the chamber (mine does). I see it has a wing style scope relief safety. They are 2-position but that's fine. Easily converted to Model 70 style 3-position safety if desired. What scope base is that? Redfield? I presume receiver is tapped for three screws? Good buy for a very utilitarian gun.

A couple pictures of the rifle one from each side, on of the action and one of bottom metal.

That way it will be easy to determine if it is a wood or synthetic stock, has the bolt handle been replaced or bent. etc

I am not sure on scope base. I can get a picture of the top of the action after while. I believe the majority of what you are looking for is in the current photos

Dave, he posted those photos at the start of the thread. Are you not able to see them? The first photo is of another Ruger he's selling so forget that one. The other photos of gun without checkering are the vz.24.

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
