The NG isnt really the strong arm move in this situation... the NG has been called out countless times over the last hundred years to help get cities back under control, quell riots, etc.. there are units within the guard that receive training that is specific to common LEO assistance missions, etc..etc.. and units are typically given very clear and specific rules regarding how they will and will not engage the public, etc..

What has happened that is far more relevant than the NG being called up is the DC police force has been federalized.. it is now under control of the DOJ... which means the mayor is no longer directing or controlling the police.. the federal government is..

I’m assuming they are working on their own authority, and not under the DC police force. And these are actually questions.

The same way that the Marines worked with LAPD; trust me the last thing anyone wants is to hear a load of welfare queens screaming about how their 3 time felon 15yo was a good boy; and I can assure you their rights are more enshrined than the protesting truckers to our north.

I find "emergency" to be incredibly exaggerated. I am in and out of DC atleast once a month. Never an issue. Our nation has much more pressing issues.

Watching the Chinese Navy and Coast Guard ships colliding gives solid clues of their readiness. Not that they collided, but how they reacted during the collision.
The video shows clearly they don’t have the experience on the bridge necessary for a War Ship.

As the Coast Guard ship runs into the port side of the Chinese Navy war ship, it’s apparent that the war ship used starboard rudder in attempt to miss the Coast Guard ship.

Proper training and experience would say they should have used Port Rudder and actually turned in towards the Coast Guard cutter at that close proximity.

That would swing the rear of the ship away as the Coast Guard cutter impacts the warship. instead, turning to starboard, swung the tail into the CoastGuard ship with more force.

at the end of the video you can tell by the wake of the war ship that they were turning to the right.

It may seem minor but properly trained, experienced officer the deck would know that
