Finally got my own .375, Model 70 Alaskan

Anyone else disappointed in trigger pull? Mine averaged 5lbs 3oz out of the box. I was only able to adjust it down to a little over 4lbs. Thinking I may put a Timney in it.

Dang it! I guess I got lucky or mine is crisp and guessing around 3 lbs. Throw a Timney in it.

Mine has noticeable creep too. Really a piss poor trigger IMO. I expected more from it. Just wondering if this is the norm for a factory M70 or I just got a bad sample. My other M70 has an equally terrible trigger but I never use that gun so haven't fooled with upgrading it.

My trigger is terrible. Around 5.5lb. Gun is accurate though. Finally zeroed it.

Finally got a scope mounted. Bases courtesy of Tally from the Double Rifle Society giveaway. Old school Leupold VX-3 1.5-5 German 4 reticle.

Not the final scope but dug into the parts bin and figured it good for whitetail this year until I get reemployed.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.
