Buying A Used Heym Double Rifle - Any Advice?

By the way Safari and Outdoor have at last received their shipment of Heym double rifles. Rivonia has a 500, 470 and 450/400. Not cheap, but available.
Hi Kevin, the website shows out of stock, however is that price correct? R487k for the 470? That is nearly a 50% increase in less than 2 years.

$27,500 USD for a 470NE sounds like a bargain to me. Used Heyms sell for that quite frequently.

They have another SKU for a Heym 470NE (also out of stock) that is probably the updated one. That is at $47,000 and sounds more like reality. I suspect the other SKU was A.) totally a bare-bones PH model, and B.) was a pre-covid price.

Thanks Rookhawk! I bought a bare-bones 470 (only small border engraving) from them for about $18k two years ago. Sounds like it was a good investment...

You nailed it. Congrats on a Covid bargain that won’t be repeated.

I'll have an 89B coming up for sale shortly. One of my best freinds passed away and will be helping his widow sell a few things.

450 3-1/4", He never fired it. Coin finish, 40-50% coverage of engraving, decent wood. Once I get it in hand I can get all the measurments and will post it. I'd buy it but I alreay have an 89B in 450 NE.

Heym's official site, prices, options, etc. changed for the worse.

They all look the same after a while. But this 89. Two 500's, one built on their big frame, the middle built on the Africa frame .. That's a significant difference. Wish this was brought to the attn to the buyer.

To your point, good luck trying to do business with Chris at Heym USA.

He now is the last person I would trust with a deposit!

Yep I said it, he is not a good person to do business with!

I gave him money for a red dot base over two years ago....still waiting for refund or base.

Did you ever send an email I posted in the other thread where you brought this up?

Not sure I recall your post. Please refresh my memory.

If you mean have I tried by calling and emailing Heym USA. Yes!

Credit card company wouldn't help because I trusted Chris when he told me 3-6 months
wait for part.

When I contacted Visa, they told me to much time had passed.

I would love to find a way to bring it up with the manufacture...

As I'm sure you sense, I'm bitter...

Email Jessica at the address below. Tell her what’s up and I would be shocked if it is not headed your way quickly if they still have some in stock. They did not get them completed till earlier this year when I snagged two of them.

HEYM does not make the red dot mounts. They are made stateside I believe. And yes they took A LONG time for them to get made. Don’t know why.

I see you’re bitter, and I get it. I think it’s just a $250 order that slipped through the cracks.

PM me your contact information if that email address does not get you sorted out and I’ll hit them up as I need to speak with them in the next couple weeks anyway.

I once ordered one, it took ages to be manufactured, but Heym USA eventually came through. Then it was disallowed by the international courier, so I just gave up and moved on.

I really wouldn't know, but you're not the 1st to have said the same by any means. (with all due respect). Brings to mind, Facebook's "Double Rifle Society". It really is a nice page, however.

I couldn't see depositing anything to Heym, nor anyone else much these days....
