Not quite an actual photo but I was curious if I could see/hear about some different ways the good folks on here like to display photos of their hunts. My father keeps a framed photo alongside each of this shoulder mounts, but I have a number of trophy photos that have no physical trophy taken from the animal due to the circumstances/time/species. Hoping there is something in someone's home/office/mancave that really catches my interest. Thank you!

I takes a great picture with my Cannon Rebel camera then send to my artist in SA. She then paints the photo in oil on canvass

Like your father, I also place a photo next to the mount. Scenic photos are displayed grouped together. And I'm looking to have some photos sequenced together to automatically rotate, a slide show, on a TV screen with dubbed in African music and animal sounds.

In the past I have gone on Amazon.com & had photos printed onto large canvas frames in black and white. The black and white in my opinion gives it a nostalgic feel.

I have two 6 ft by 4 ft cork boards full at the camp plus probably close to 100 photos framed on the wall up there.

Would it be impertinent of me to ask who your artist is?

Canvas on the cheap is another service that will turn your photo into a canvas print.

I use easycanvasprints.com. They print on metal and canvas. I have some of both and enjoy them. Then I just hang them randomly wherever they fit. I’ve also had a large canvas print from Africa done for over our fireplace. It was a picture of a herd of wildebeest that just had really nice lighting.

I rarely bring home actual trophies any longer so most of my hunts memorialized in photography in one form or another. I always make a photo journal of the hunt. One thing that I am certain no one will want when I am gone are dead animal parts to hang on their walls. But journals that take grandchildren on adventures when grandpa and grandma were around might just be of interest. I would certainly have treasured something like that form my grandparents.

As others have suggested, I also do canvas prints. They take up far less room than a shoulder mount and add interest to a trophy room.

I have a display of photos on the wall in my office. Nothing fancy, frames from Hobby Lobby, and prints from Walgreens. I can't load pictures from my phone. Technology. :(

I like to put something with the photo in a box frame like a recovered bullet if possible. I think it adds a nice touch.
My friend @JINKLE made s pretty cool shadow box of a mushroomed bullet and ammo. This is from his west Texas aoudad hunt.

Maybe he can share his shadow box. It’s pretty neat

I did this at Hobby Lobby with the South African currency.

You have the most tasteful man cave, I always love seeing a thread of this sorts come up because there is a chance you will post that incredible room you curated.

And that’s coming from a son of an established interior decorator! lol

I love the idea of the books. Thanks everyone for the inspiration but I think books and a corkboard are going to be the way to go!

I have so many hunting photos from over the years, a photo album is the only practical way to save them all. I received several of these wood photo albums years ago, and have grown to prefer them.

Some might consider them old fashioned or even cheesy, but they are a practical way to store and display very large numbers of hunting pics

My apologies... the lighting sucked when I took these this morning after I saw your post...

Mine is a work in progress - maybe it always will be? I put things up according to what strikes my fancy and fits the room - my living space is pretty modest. I also have a photo album of my first trip and need to get one of my second as well.

Personally, I feel it's redundant to display a photo alongside a mount; however, for non-importable species, or in the event of a second home situation where the animal is physically hanging in another dwelling, I prefer professional framing with the frame and mat, etc. being picked by someone (a designer) more knowledgeable than myself.
