@roverandbrew - You are Smart to search for a “Good Gunsmith” even though putting on and fitting a Recoil pad is “basic” and anyone calling themselves a GunSmith should be able to do it —- some can NOT. I had one put a pad on a rifle near Fredericksburg - it looked like ASS….I told him I would Now need to take the rifle somewhere else to “clean up the mess he made” —- at least he didn’t charge me. Finding a Good Gunsmith today is both rare and valuable !
I reached out to a gunsmith here who claimed to build customs rifle but had never heard of a Winchester Model 70 style safety. "Good" is hard to find.
